Historia
Uncle Tom's Cabin was the best-selling novel of the 19th century and the second best-selling book of that century, following the Bible. It is credited with helping fuel the abolitionist cause in the 1850s. In 1855, three years after it was published, it was called "the most popular novel of our day." A thrilling and important piece of American literature!

This book is really deep...😢

This book is really amazing, and i must have cried at least ten times while listening. The narrator is awesome too, she does a great job with the voices. But, this book is just so sad! It's just people being treated like animals and they can't do anything about it. Also, this book is from a long time ago, so you will hear an ugly word for African Americans over and over again.

Historia
"By Pike and Dyke" is a historical novel for young people about the rise of the Dutch Republic by G.A. Henty. Excerpt: In all the pages of history there is no record of a struggle so unequal, so obstinately maintained, and so long contested as that by which the men of Holland and Zeeland won their right to worship God in their own way, and also - although this was but a secondary consideration with them - shook off the yoke of Spain and achieved their independence.

this author rarely disappoints, but the reading of this make it unbearable. I hate to make personal remarks about the reader, but perhaps some coaching would have been helpful? its very deadpan.

Historia
Born to an unmarried woman who dies after giving birth, orphan Oliver Twist seems destined to slog through a dismal life in the workhouse. A rebellious cry for more gets Oliver banished, and ultimately lands him on the dismal streets of London. The young outcast finds refuge with Fagin and his band of thieves before fate intervenes and puts Oliver in the hands of a kindly benefactor. It is likely that Dickens's own early youth as a child labourer contributed to the story's development.

But not for the faint of heart! I really enjoyed this book but If your listening with children be advised there is a grisly murder which might be to scary.
