An enjoyable story. Given Audible has no idea how to price short books, I'm hoping we get longer ones in the future. But, as always, it's fun to listen to anything from Drew Hayes. And no cursing to cough over when the kids are listening is a bonus. They are used to Crystal and Nick at this point, but still, nice.

Extremely ably and funnily read. A great short story I think this could be turned into a series or even a full novel structure it would be worth it Great characters lots of fun.

I think I laughed out loud more often with this book. it was also pretty well structured. If you liked either of the series so far you shouldn't be disappointed.

Maybe it's the incessant and unnecessary acronyms (it's faster to say most of the actual words than the acronyms) or the overuse of the excessively precise ship timing, or just the lack of things actually happening, but I didn't enjoy this book. It's too bad, because I'm absolutely dying for the next Demons book. Let's go back to the abyss.

Another great story of swords, sorcery, and company mission statements. Fans of the first two will have no trouble enjoying the book. It does need a little while to get rolling so stick it through the start and enjoy the ride

Definitely one of the better Culture series books. I loved the take on how civilizations would make heavens and hells real given the technology and particularly how this allowed the settings and characters to change significantly throughout the book. Enjoy.

I have enjoyed other of Stephen Hawking's books. I think this one was reasonable, but because it was framed as a number of independent questions, it hashed over the same concepts several times and didn't go particularly deep into any of them. This is probably more for if you've never read any of his other work, or want more existential discussion.

I can't tell if it's the change in narrators that made it clear, but this series has lost its luster. It was always a guilty pleasure but now it just feels random and without substance. The spark is missing and I don't know why. And, I can't believe I'd ever have missed Vikas Adams, I disliked his voices (and said so in reviews) but apparently got used to them. I usually like Luke Daniels but the shift was jarring and the gleeful mischief of Cal is notably missing. Stop at book 4.

This book has a lot to say but the delivery is a little messy. I think 6 or more times the main character said "and then it all became clear", when it was really just a passing observation. That said, since the book hits a variety of topics about intelligence and sapience, it only makes sense that sometimes it's intended to be nonlinear (Sound and the Fury style). A worth while read for those who like to mix psychology and sci-fi.

Action packed with excellent characters and no punches pulled. As with other Culture books the story starts small and becomes massive in little time. Enjoy.
