Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Not much, I just didn't engage with the characters in this story
Revisado: 03-05-25
I was disappointed in this novel! I guess I was expecting more pure King storytelling and didn't feel this book gave me that.

One of the best!!
Revisado: 02-07-25
I am a late arriver to many of the King works and of the 8 I have read or listened to thus far, this was one of the best! I Loved this novel! Great character development and story line! I usually listen while working outside in the yard. With this King novel, I was continually creating more projects so I could listen even more. I was enthralled by the presentation and the narration was perfect! Can't wait to start another!

D-Day is approaching. They don’t know where or when, but the Germans know it’ll be soon, and for Felicity "Flick" Clariet, the stakes have never been higher. A senior agent in the ranks of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) responsible for sabotage, Flick has survived to become one of Britain’s most effective operatives in Northern France. She knows that the Germans’ ability to thwart the Allied attack depends upon their lines of communications, and in the days before the invasion, no target is of greater strategic importance than the largest telephone exchange in Europe.

Follett Proving His Mastery Again
Revisado: 04-20-24
This was a great little story about an incredibly important period of time in the worlds history! Plausible, well thought out and skillfully delivered. Final scenes were somewhat anti climactic, but overall kept my interest and brought me back!!

Too Much Fantasy
Revisado: 04-06-24
I am a true fan of the medieval so I was initially excited by the titles and the prospects for a good read. That quickly changed and I had to stop listening when it became apparent that this was a work truly dedicated to pure fantasy, much of which just baffled me and my thinking.

A Nice Read
Revisado: 04-06-24
This was an interestingly astute vehicle to outline the power of propaganda on a young girl, her family, and the world that she lived in. The fictional characters and events accurately describes the horrible circumstances and the pressures to comply with the thinking of the Nazi regime. that the German people experienced during this tragic period in history.

Revisado: 02-01-24
The story was good but predictable. Ken Lee always does an excellent job with his readings, but I missed the plot twist and turns of earlier books in this series!

Great Listen
Revisado: 09-10-23
This was a good novel to listen to while wanting some companionship on a long road trip. Nothing too deep, but dramatic enough to keep my attention. Good story line, but somewhat far fetched at times. The performance was well done and Haberkorn did a nice job of bring the various characters to life!

Revisado: 09-15-22
Fully enjoyed the second title in the Millennium series. Lots of characters to keep track of, but that in and of itself made this a great read/listen. Simon Vance is a perfect narrator for this series and I truly enjoyed his interpretation of the story!
