Historia
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied (and scandalous) families of the 20th Century.

Emily Henry does it again
Revisado: 04-29-25
Emily Henry never fails to impress me in her books. Her writing is impeccable, and her storytelling is unlike anything else I have encountered. As always, Julia Whelan is the greatest narrator in my Audible library.

Much more than it seems
Revisado: 01-16-25
This book was a commentary on so much more than it initially appears. Way more than a magic school story.

Break my heart and put it back together I guess
Revisado: 09-25-24
Incredible. This series broke my heart and put it back together again within three books. I’ve never read or listened to anything like it. I will be thinking about this series for a long, long time. Brandon Sanderson, you are a mastermind.

Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Historia
The Empire of the Wolf is on its knees, but there's life in the great beast yet. To save it, Sir Konrad Vonvalt and Helena must look beyond its borders for allies—to the wolfmen of the southern plains, and the pagan clans in the north. But old grievances run deep, and both factions would benefit from the fall of Sova. Even these allies might not be enough. Their enemy, the zealot Bartholomew Claver, wields infernal powers bestowed on him by a mysterious demonic patron. If Vonvalt and Helena are to stand against him, they will need friends on both sides of the mortal plane.

Mediocre ending
Revisado: 04-25-24
Mildly disappointing. This was medieval horror that was a bit too much gore for my tastes. The story took some interesting turns. Overall just a mediocre ending to the trilogy to be honest.

Great second book in a trilogy. Helena can be annoying some of the time. There were some wild twists in this one! Excited to continue. This is definitely not a series for anyone with a weak stomach. Amazing characters. I cried when one particular character died.

Excellent narration to a fascinating historical fiction story
Revisado: 01-25-24
I’ve not read much historical fiction based in Asian/Pacific countries. This was so interesting! I learned so much about the history of this nation and culture which is so different than mine - all while being entertained by a murder mystery and romance subplot. Wonderful characters and a great story.
