After reading this book, I was convinced it was written in response to the “global pandemic”. Every single aspect of it opened my eyes to the situation we currently find ourselves in. A world manipulated into worshiping fear to protect itself from an “invisible enemy”. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that this book was written and published several months BEFORE the first recorded case of Covid-19. I’ve NO DOUBT that this book was divinely inspired for such a time as this - for the purpose of reminding Christians that they are the light of the world - made in the image of the Father WHOM through His son, Jesus, has already claimed victory over death and the grave. If we truly believe these things, then what power does the grave hold over us? This book reminds us that the enemy of old feeds off of our fear and therefore stokes it into a fever pitch to confuse our hearts and minds and to serve his own selfish ends. This book illustrates the great evils that can be committed for THE ILLUSION of SAFETY and this book reminds us that this safety is an illusion because there is truly NOTHING TO FEAR when you serve the AUTHOR of the UNIVERSE. Through parable that so perfectly mirrors our current global crisis, the truth is reinforced with such blinding clarity for those that have eyes to see. You cannot serve two masters - fear and love. The two cannot abide within each other at the same time. Which master manifests through your decision making - and how does that action resonate in the world? This was the most insightful and relevant book I’ve read this year. I wish I could buy it twice!

it was too short! I would've liked to see a more gradual build up. It felt forced in the end and got a tiny bit cheesy but I ain't mad at ya, Katy...your still one of my top five authors and I can't wait to see what deliciousness you come up with next!!

I have been patient, I think...but I cannot wait anymore. "LAST LIGHT" has been out in print for like 2 years...I need to hear the continuation of this series! For those of you out there that have yet to listen to NIGHT OWL, the first book in this fantastically raunchy series, make the purchase and allow Ms. Duvall to set you aflame. This book is smokin hot and it has left me panting for more. PLEASE, AUDIBLE...PUT "LAST LIGHT" ON YOUR "TO BE RECORDED IN OUR STUDIO" list. Thank you, that is all...for now.

I'm conflicted on this story. Some of the things my ears were subjected to hearing in this audiobook are so heinous and ugly that I thought at times my ears would bleed. But I feel hallowed out and scraped raw and it has been my experience in the past that books that have the ability to evoke such intense emotion in us are the books that stick with us long after we read the last page. My issue is, I don't like these feelings too much. This is not a feel good book. It is jammed full of tragedy. Just when you think there is a chance that the main characters might make it out on the other side of these tragic events, maybe not whole or completely sane, but you begin to search for that light you can sense coming just at the end of the tunnel...only to find out that the light is a train barreling headlong to smack you on your a$$. For me the story became unbelievable. In my opinion, where there is only darkness, there can be no light. There was no balance in this book. It was chaos, hate and utter hopelessness and to top it all off, there was a monster cliff that Ms. Blair left us hanging off of...again. Not a happy camper right now.

I just didn't enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed Lauren Danes other works. The first book in the series was promising but as they progressed, the writing declined. They lack the tangible passion most of her books ooze...I'm not saying these books are bad, they just weren't the creme of the crop in my humble opinion.

This was an excellent story that could've been one of my coveted five star reads if the narrator hadn't been so abominable. There were several instances when the narrator clears his throat or coughs at inappropriate times, which lets be honest, I get that this happens from time to time but this should've been edited out of the story. It was distracting and it disrupted the flow. Another thing that irritated me about this narrator was that his attempt to insert emotion in his tone of voice was over the top dramatic and this also disrupted the flow a bit for me. It's a shame, but bad narration can make or break a book for me. Audible, please get us a new narrator for this book!! I am a huge Elle Aycart fan!!

Any additional comments?

I wasn't sure about this one, in fact I had it in my wish list for several weeks before I decided to give it a go...this just proves to me once again that one cannot always judge a book by its cover. I'm so glad I gave it a chance! The OG's are laugh out loud hilarious grandmas. Meddling and crazy with their auto-correct texting issues, they are the comic relief needed to offset the sometimes intense drama between our hero and heroine. The sex scenes are great and although their lack of communication is frustrating at times, the hero and heroine are likable. This book ticks all my boxes, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Elle Aycart has become an automatic download for me.

"I love you"...,"I love you too, shnookums"..."I love you more!" "No, I wuv YOU more!!" This is the nauseating extent of about 85% of the story. Insta-love followed by enough sugary sweetness to make my teeth hurt. This book is so ridiculous but Ms. Force left us with one hellacious cliff hanger that means I will more than likely suffer through all the cotton candy love in book 3 just so I can see who done it...I'm such a sucker.

The woman narrating Cash and Rachel's story was bad. Painfully bad...her male voices were awful and her gross mispronunciation of nearly every name in the book was incredibly distracting. Do the audio producers not have any sort of editing involved in the process of making these audiobooks? I believe I would make that a priority for the following books in this series. I'm not sure who has final say on the narrators chosen for these specific audiobooks but I think it's fair to say they've dropped the ball on this one. Please bring back the narrator of the previous audio books in this series!! Other than the narrator issue, one can expect the same level of greatness we have come to appreciate from Jamie Begley in the previous books of this series.

Ya, this was one of those books...nothing special. All my books are starting to read the same for some reason. Come on, all of you potential earth changing as we know it, authors...rally your vocabularies :). Readers are hungry. Give us something with substance... Give us something we can really sink our teeth into. Move us!
