cool but balanced power system: check
leaves you satisfied but still hankering for more: check
and that last one is nearly impossible as it’s a fine line between a contradiction and perfection

Great story telling

the setting and descriptions and progression is really good. the con would be how Regal is such a dull character, his driving forces are weak and just seems cookie cutter bad guy. Also the tragedy of the other coatery doesn’t escape me, but it does the writer- what’s worse, is even until their death their just treated as bad guys. I do love the skill/wit systems in the book too

amazing story and world building

probably would have been my favorite book if not for final ark- felt rushed, especially at the very end. until then, it was a beautiful story with great description of the world and characters. internal monologues made this story special in my opinion
