Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Gut wrenching but impactful
Revisado: 09-02-22
I purchased the book months ago but for some reason just was not ready to hear it, When I finally heard the book it was the sad truth about progress, or the lack ther of of race in America. The most powerful nation in the world does not have the will to do better- maybe the next generation can.

No one has to tell President Obama’s story - he tells us what he wants us to know about the land that has delivered promises to some and failed many others. The narration was well done and made a long manuscript easier to plow through. Well written. Long but worth reading.

A tale of two sons
Revisado: 06-30-21
A comprehensive spellbinding rendition of the man and his passions. Leeming artfully paints a canvas of abstract and reality blends that is unparalleled in storytelling.
We meet the young Baldwin who sees himself as ugly with the uncanny ability to communicate in voice and words “feel good” images for the soul and spirit. He is indeed a son of Harlem who could only fulfill his destiny by becoming a son of France. In France he found his witness voice and remained until his last breath.
You may know the works of Baldwin but if you want a comprehensive look at the man, this biography will take you a long way down the path of a tale of two sons.

Historia
Artificial intelligence does the seemingly impossible - driving cars, trading stocks, and teaching children. But facing the sea change that AI will bring can be paralyzing. How should companies set strategies, governments design policies, and people plan their lives for a world so different from what we know? In Prediction Machines, three eminent economists recast the rise of AI as a drop in the cost of prediction. With this single, masterful stroke, they lift the curtain on the AI-is-magic hype and show how basic tools from economics provide clarity about the AI revolution and a basis for action by CEOs, managers, policy makers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

I liked the data, the facts, the story of what...which was well-done.
What could have been done better with more clarity was the “why”.

Simply wonderful storytelling at its best!
Revisado: 05-27-18
I purchased the Audible version. The sound of the different voices were compelling and added to the authentic storytelling. The stories are multigenerational spanning the realities of friendship, marriage, separation and life after disappointment of a failed Uníon.
I especially like Roy’s story and his journey to finding a real home—one defined by inner peace in compared to his life of external sacrifice. Enjoy!

For a 2014 publication- it is very dated material. It needs serious revisions to be of use other than a historical account of events.
