Historia
Jerry Harris was a self-made California millionaire who, at age forty-four, had it all: booming businesses, yachts, a mansion, a beautiful wife, and a voice to rival Elvis. No one who knew this well-liked, generous man could make sense of his sudden disappearance one autumn night. On a final phone call to his brother from his Mercedes, Jerry breathed a muffled oath - then the line went dead. For Jerry's wife, Susan, it was just the beginning of an unwavering, eight-year search for the truth behind her husband's vanishing.

Not the best Ann Rule work
Revisado: 07-28-14
I have listened to other Ann Rule books and they were very good and kept my interest throughout the whole book. This book really dragged and was very slow. The storyline lacked holding my interest. The information was repeated a lot and the story just went on and on. I would not recommend this as a good listen.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-13-14
Hard to listen to and hear all the conversations. Sometimes different characters talked over one another. The story was not all that great, would not recommend to buy this book. Maybe check it out from the library for free.

Ann Rule presents her 8th collection of crime stories drawn from her private files - and featuring the riveting case of a fraudulent doctor whose lifelong deceptions had deadly consequences. Dr. Anthony Pignataro was a cosmetic surgeon and a famed medical researcher whose flashy red Lamborghini and flamboyant lifestyle in western New York State suggested a highly successful career. Enjoyed the stories
Revisado: 05-13-14
Knowing these were true stories it was very disturbing listening to the stories and our justice system and society, but I enjoyed very much. The time flew by and kept me very interested in all the stories. I will definitely get more Ann Rule books.

Silly fair fetched murder mystery
Revisado: 03-20-14
This was way over the top ridiculous but I listened to the whole thing. Even though it was far fetched I listened and tried to figure out who did it. It was an easy listen and kept me company as I drove down the highway. The end was very weird in that there was no motive why this person murdered all these people, so very disappointed in that. The narrator did a good job on the read.

Historia
Nobody really believes in a curse. Until you know the people who disappear. Too much coincidence, you look for reason. Too much death, you grasp for something to blame. Carson pulled Delaney out and he died on the side of the road with her mouth pressed to his. Her air in his body. Troy. She told the cops it was suicide. Didn't matter. The lake released her and grabbed another. But when Decker's father dies in a pool of spilled water on their kitchen floor, all Decker can feel is a slow burning rage. Because he knows that Delaney knew that his dad was going to die.

Painful to listen to
Revisado: 03-14-14
This book may appeal to a young teen, but I doubt it. Very very boring, no story line. I listened to half of the first book and gave it up. The more I listened the more frustrated I was getting with the story. I even fast forwarded through a lot of it to see if it picked up but it just stayed boring and repetitive. Hopefully it picked up in the second book but I could not stand it long enough to get there. Actually the narrator did an okay job but he had a really crummy story to work with.

Okay and fills a long day driving
Revisado: 03-08-14
First I did not like the narrator and the Irish accent he used. It was hard to understand him in some parts of the book. It took a while to get into the book. I almost quit listening after the first 30 minutes because it was not going anywhere but stuck it out. Turned out to be a fairly good story. It is not an award winning book but okay to fill the time.

It was just another day on the job for 53-year-old Richard Phillips, captain of the Maersk Alabama, a United States-flagged cargo ship that was carrying, among other things, food and agricultural materials for the World Food Program. That all changed when armed Somali pirates boarded the ship.

Great Story but very repetitive in parts.
Revisado: 03-08-14
This is a very good story and really enjoyed the book once I got to part 2. Part 1 was way too long with way too much background on himself and family. This info did not make a difference knowing all that to hear the story of his Pirate experience. While Captain Phillips was on the ship and experiencing the capture by the pirates the book went on too long about his wife and was very repetitive on what she was going through and how she was handling the situation. The narrator was very good. I enjoyed listening to him. I also saw the movie and there is a lot more information in the book about the time spent on the ship than what is given in the movie.

Don't Bother
Revisado: 02-01-14
This book is so bad. I really considered returning it. I could not listen to the whole book. Unclear who or what her God is. I think maybe the Universe. Unclear what the point of the story was. Just don't waste your money.
