I loved the depth of Diana's journey. How we are introduced to her family. I enjoyed being able to follow her path to her learning of deeper magic. It was filled with insight and great compelling writing.
I enjoyed this book as much or more than the other books in the series.

Why do all new and strange things need to turn into cruel and power hungry things? Good not overcoming evil.
yet, it makes sense if the Neighbors were the angels and devils of our long ago histories.
I had hoped this would be a story of the evolution of our world. This 2nd book certainly indicates that the Neighbors are not any better than us.
perhaps more cruel.
I am interested in seeing how book 3 concludes.

I have always loved Robert J Sawyer's books. This was no different. Not only did it have an engrossing storyline it also had mystery that kept my mind churning about what would be next. I couldn't help but think about the greater meanings within the storylines
I don't know if I liked the book being done as a theater piece.
It might have been just as enjoyable, or more so, had it been done just with a 2 or 3 person narration & without any sound effects. IMHO.

I like the first book. it had a lot of action as well as good character development.
this book is really boring.
I really disliked the narrator.
I had a hard time trying to know which character was saying what. they all sounded the same. the males were male and females except the American accent were all the same.
the story was just dragged out. Nothing really happened that kept my interest.

I know it was only 1/2 of a double story but that didn't bother me since I hadn't read the full book. I felt this story stands perfectly well on its own.
I enjoyed listening and as usual the narration was terrific.
I hope they never change out Ms. Erickson for someone else.
she is perfect.

Why are there 3 stories, no connection between them.?
if would have been better as a book sold with three stories. The interaction between the was really confusing.

Trying to keep the people and stories in sync was really difficult especially when listening to it in audio format.

Loved it

Loved it. Took 3 chapters till I really got into the book and I could hardly stop listening after that. I loved the relationship between Rocky and Grace.
It was one of the most satisfying Scifi books about alien life I have listened to on a long time. Excellent!
