Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook to anyone. The story itself was great and the narrator did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed it.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the characters. Gus was such a grumpy sweetheart. A little on the clueless side, but in a funny way. Casey was so nice and easy going about everything. I really liked the relationship they had together. The secondary characters were so much fun also.
Have you listened to any of Derrick McClain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to Derrick McClain before, that I can remember, but I really enjoyed his performance and would definitely listen to him again.
If you could rename How to Be a Normal Person, what would you call it?
I wouldn't rename it. This is what Gus was searching for and he truly found it by being himself.
Any additional comments?
This was just a really nice story about two guys finding their way to a relationship. It was a little over the top funny at times, but I think that was why I liked it so much. It was just that kind of off humor that made me laugh and the narrator really gave it the right feel. Gus' calls to buy the internet were fantastic. Gus and Casey were so sweet together. I loved that awesome hugs and some kisses were really all that was needed. I would absolutely recommend this book.

Historia
Ash Winters is barely holding on, near drowning in his own darkness and fear. He lives a gray shadow of a life, sullen and cynical, unable to remember hope or happiness - much less the distant, fading glitterball of love. It has to be a sick joke of the universe that he finds himself hooked up with good-humored Essex boy Darian Taylor, a wannabe model in a sparkly jacket and a fake tan. Darian may not be an intellectual giant, but he's hysterically funny, and he's got the courage to challenge Ash to live again.

What made the experience of listening to Glitterland the most enjoyable?
I hadn't read the book yet, so it was all new to me. The story line was so good, but the narrator really brought it to life for me. What a fantastic job by Nicholas Boulton. Each character really had their own voice and it was very easy to follow.
What about Nicholas Boulton’s performance did you like?
I think Nicholas Boulton gave these characters life. He really made it feel like I was there. The emotion was real, the jokes were real, the crazy was real.
If you could rename Glitterland, what would you call it?
I don't think I could rename it. Everything about it was so glittery.
Any additional comments?
I have owned this book for awhile and for whatever reason I continued to put it off. When I saw the audiobook, I decided this would be a good way to spend my commute to work each day. I think I am glad I waited. Alexis Hall writes an amazing story that I know I would have liked had I just read it, but hearing it with the correct accents and emotions through the narrator made me love it. A fantastic story that I would recommend to anyone.

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wisecracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were 18? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Where does HIM rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I haven't read too many audiobooks yet, but HIM would rank near the top. I had already read the book, so I knew the storyline, but the audio made it even better. The emotion of the characters was brought out. The narrators were fantastic.
What other book might you compare HIM to and why?
I always compare it to The Understatement of the Year. The storyline is a bit different, but they both involve Sarina Bowen and are about gay college hockey players. Love them both.
What about Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?
They both did a wonderful job. They gave distinct voices to each character, so it was very easy to know whose mind we were in. Both have very easy listening voices. They brought the story more to life than just reading on a page.
Any additional comments?
This was just a really good story about friendship, love, self-realization and some hockey. I would recommend it.

Five years ago Michael Graham betrayed the only person who ever really knew him. Since then he's made an art of hiding his sexual orientation from everyone. Including himself. So it's a shock when his past strolls right into the Harkness College locker room, sporting a bag of hockey gear and the same slow smile that had always rendered Graham defenseless.

What made the experience of listening to The Understatement of the Year the most enjoyable?
I had already read this book, so I knew the story line. The narration added more to it for me. Both narrators were wonderful.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Understatement of the Year?
Graham coming out to his mom. Telling her was a good turning point for him. He was finally realizing how important Rikker was and I think telling his mom started to open him up to being himself.
What does Teddy Hamilton and Christian Fox bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have read the book and I loved it just reading it, but the narrators just made it so much more. They gave two distinct voices to the main characters and allowed the emotion to come through for them. They also both have fantastic voices, so it was very easy to sit and listen to them.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to, but this was a listen done on my commute to and from work, so it took several days.
Any additional comments?
Just a really good story. I am a fan of this author and I thought this book translated very well to audio.

Historia
Raymond has to get his act together and find a place of his own. But when out-and-proud David Butler offers to be his roommate, Raymond agrees for reasons other than needing a place to crash. David is Raymond's opposite in almost every way - he's Connecticut prim and proper while Raymond is a sarcastic longshoreman from Queens - but their friendship is solid. Their closeness surprises everyone as does their not-so-playful flirtation, since Raymond has always kept his bi-curious side a secret.

Great continuation of the series...
Revisado: 06-26-16
If you could sum up Sunset Park in three words, what would they be?
So So Good...I know, not exactly what was meant by the question, but this is what I could come up with.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked that the characters were so different. They have different ethnic backgrounds, family upbringings and just general outlooks on life. Raymond is brusk, rough and to the point where David is not. I liked the way their differing personalities still worked so well together.
What about Michael Ferraiuolo’s performance did you like?
I really liked Ferraiuolo's narration. Each character had their own voice and that made the story very easy to follow. The emotion came through in the narration. I loved the book, but the audio made me appreciate it even more. Raymond was easily my favorite character, but Farraiuolo gave David a voice that made me like him more than I had just reading the book. It was a great job.
Any additional comments?
This was just a really good story made even better with the narration. I would recommend it to any m/m fans.

Very entertaining listen...
Revisado: 06-25-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Sutphin Boulevard to be better than the print version?
I think I liked the print version a little more than the audio. While I ended up liking the narrator by the end, I had a tough time getting into this book at the start. I had already read the book, so I knew I would love the story if I just kept listening.
What aspect of Rusty Topsfield’s performance would you have changed?
I think it got better toward the end, but everything felt so intense at the start. I almost felt like I was listening to something suspenseful rather than something that was about a romance.
Any additional comments?
This really is a great story. I highly recommend it to fans of M/M romance. It deals with family drama, addiction and love. Santino Hassell has become one of my go to authors, if you haven't read anything by him, I suggest you do.

Historia
At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

Revisado: 06-13-15
Would you listen to Wild again? Why?
I might listen to it again. It was a bit long for a repeat, but I really did like the story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The story was mainly Cheryl, but I enjoyed meeting all of the characters along the way. Her family sounded so interesting with the upbringing they had and the people she met along the way on her hike would have been so much fun to talk to. They all seem to have interesting stories to tell.
What does Bernadette Dunne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Just the feeling in her voice. I liked getting a little emotion in the dialogue. Things can be taken differently with only written word, but you get more with Bernadette's telling of the story.
Any additional comments?
Great read, although I would have liked to have learned a little more on her feelings after the hike. It wrapped up fairly quickly. One part that actually brought a tear to my eye was the mention of Doug's death. He felt like such a likeable guy.

Very entertaining and thought provoking book...
Revisado: 04-30-15
Would you listen to American Savage again? Why?
Yes, it was such a good book. I found the delivery very good and the arguments and points that Dan was making very easy to agree with. There was humor throughout the serious and Dan's voice was very easy to listen to and understand. I would recommend this book to anyone. Even those opposing LGBT's, you may learn something.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
I just came away from this book feeling like we are all human, no matter who we are attracted to. We should treat each other with respect and dignity along with the fact that everyone should have the same opportunities in life.
Have you listened to any of Dan Savage’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to Dan Savage before, but after listening to this book, I believe I will look for more of his work.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The story of his mother's death and the epilogue were both very moving. I really felt for him as he explained his mother's death. I had a tear in my eye listening, so I'm not sure how he was able to tell it with such a clear voice. It was obviously an emotional time. I really like the epilogue. It is great to see our country finally starting to realize that love is love and marriage should be allowed by all. I do hope the men from the park were also able to celebrate that day.
Any additional comments?
I really got a kick out of the introduction. Really, why do you need to introduce a book that someone already purchased with the intent to read? Great way to start a very enjoyable book.

A very sweet and sexy romance...
Revisado: 03-21-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Blame It on the Mistletoe to be better than the print version?
I loved the print version, which led me to reading the audiobook. I have to say, probably due to the narration, I liked the audiobook even more. Wow, Jason Frazier really made the characters come to life.
What did you like best about this story?
There really wasn't much I didn't like about this story. I always like a friends turned lovers story and this one was just so sweet. I do think my favorite part of this story was Fielding. He was the nerdy, inexperienced, geek yet he was the one that seemed to move the relationship forward.
What about Jason Frazier’s performance did you like?
Jason Frazier gave an amazing performance! Each character had their own unique voice, which made it easy to follow the story. Every emotion was felt through his narration, so I'm probably lucky I was reading this book on my commute to work. No need to worry about the Holy Moly That Was Hot flush to creep up in public. :-)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and it was short enough that it could have been read in one sitting. However, the majority of my listening time is during my commute to work, so I am limited.
Any additional comments?
Overall, this was a very sweet romance with some super sexy parts. I would recommend this read to anyone looking for a short, sweet, M/M read. The narration made it even more enjoyable and if you have a chance to listen to Jason Frazier, make sure you do.

It's moving day at Chez Holmes. Somehow, against Kit's better instincts, he and J.X. are setting up house together. But while J.X. is off at a writing conference, Kit unpacks a crate that should contain either old books or new china. It doesn't. Within the mounds of Styrofoam popcorn is a dead body. A very dead body. There goes the neighborhood.

Great continuation of the Holmes & Moriarity Serie
Revisado: 02-15-15
What made the experience of listening to The Boy with the Painful Tattoo the most enjoyable?
The story itself was very entertaining, but the narrator is so easy to listen to. Kevin has a very soothing, clear voice. Each character was easily distinguishable.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Christopher(Kit) is my favorite character. He is a little hard on himself at times, and tends to use humor to avoid difficult situations. He's had difficulty showing emotion over the series, but seems to be coming out of that in this book.
Which scene was your favorite?
No favorite scene, it was all very good.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not really, just enjoyed seeing Kit grow a little and realize he didn't want to lose J.X.
Any additional comments?
Great addition to the series. I loved the murder/mystery aspect and was glad that it kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed watching Kit and J.X.'s relationship continue to grow.
