Solid consolidation of examples
Revisado: 03-31-22
It's long. It mainly focuses on inclusive and extractive economic policies in history and why this lense is better than competing theories for why nations succeed or fail. At times I felt like it was just a long list of names with the bare minimum of context. While the arguments seemed solid I question whether I'll retain many of the examples. I do think it is worth the listen simply for the tenets and counter proposals in the beginning and also the conclusion in the final chapter.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Interesting

I liked the concept and story. I didn't care for the female who voiced Valentine's portion, but that was maybe 10percent of the book. Worth the credit.

Interesting

These are well structured interviews with interesting and professional humans. In a time where it can be challenging to sift through political content on social media and in the news, this feels like an honest and accurate assessment of the current state of our foreign standing.

one of my favorites
Revisado: 02-06-21
Tom does a great job reading. There were a few times where his characters sound very similar or he slipped out of character, making it a bit difficult to know who said what. Overall though it's solid. As for the lit by Cormac, it is perfect. I don't know how to put it other than I feel like time and reality aren't what we are lead to think. I believe the book, this review, and what's to come in all our futures is inevitable. We're just a bunch of coins.

Historia
Like Foxcatcher meets The Art of Fielding, Stephen Florida follows a college wrestler in his senior season, when every practice, every match, is a step closer to greatness and a step further from sanity. Profane, manic, and tipping into the uncanny, Stephen Florida a story of loneliness, obsession, and the drive to leave a mark.

It's an awesome story peppered with incredible one-liners. I find it existentially satisfying and surprisingly philosophical.
