Had to write this review: midway through book
Revisado: 06-25-24
What a honest down to earth guy. Halfway through the book ..just finished the Don Johnson chapter.. Story so well done.
Narration spot on.. silent smiles as i listened. So much to learn from this great man.. the ups and downs of life.. how he navigated the pitfalls and overcame the obstacles. So talented yet so humble. Already recommended the book to many colleagues. Thank you for sharing your story. This book is better than any Seinfeld episode!

Bright, attractive, and well-connected, in any other family the Churchill girls - Diana, Sarah, Marigold, and Mary - would have shone. But they were not in another family, they were Churchills and neither they nor anyone else could ever forget it. From their father - "the greatest Englishman" - to their brother, golden boy Randolph, to their eccentric and exciting cousins, the Mitford Girls, they were surrounded by a clan of larger-than-life characters which often saw them overlooked.

The grass isn't greener on the other side: Heiresses have always been viewed with eyes of envy. They were the ones for whom the cornucopia had been upended, showering them with unimaginable wealth and opportunity. However, through intimate historical biographies, Women of Means shows us that oftentimes the weaving sisters saved their most heart-wrenching tapestries for the destinies of wealthy women. Women of Means is bound to be a non-fiction best seller, full of the best biographies of all time.

Hats off to both women!!
Revisado: 11-08-20
Loved this book. Hats off to both the author and the narrator. Well done Tilar... your depth and insight into the Clicquot family is impressive. Koudos to you for pulling this all together. I also give credit to Tilar for her frank honesty thoroughout the book stating from time to time that this is what she imagined Widow Clicquot was thinking and feeling. Let's be real here hard to gather all this information from so long ago. Also the narrator... spectacular job. Beautiful pronunciation... flowing between the English language and the French language. Cheers to these ladies.. They both deserve a glass raised in their honor ... of course filled with Clicquot champagne.

Historia
No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write. Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise.
