The story was good and enjoyable. However the narrator was tough to listen to. No energy in her voice, while there was tone changes, it still felt monotone due to simply reading the book.

I picked this book about Servant Leadership over others because I did not just want to know what Servant Leadership was but how it can be adapted to all form of being a leader. While for some this may be answered, it was a struggle for me because I felt it was a story of stories about how others realized that they showed signs of servant leadership and where that stemmed from. Don't get me wrong, the stories were engaging. It just wasn't what I was looking for in the subject matter.

Heartwrenching story

In reading Tribe of Mentors, I noticed that many of the mentors recommended reading Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. So I had to read it/listen to it. The story of Frankl is heartwrenching and yet gives a motivation to look at your own life and see the value you are to those around you but most importantly to recognize and acknowledge your own value.
This is one you need focus on to truly absorb his story and learnings.

I've had this book in print for a few years collecting dust on my shelf. I'm so glad I found it on Audible and that Gretchen Rubin narrated it too. Her quips and advice were delightful, practical and relevant. I loved her stories and especially her honesty at how she didn't always keep to her happiness resolutions.
Some other books may have to wait so I can check out more of Gretchen's work.
