Historia
Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

I think celebrity books are either a huge hit or a huge miss. This one is definitely a hit. Every single chapter was funny, entertaining, and well written. There was a ton of new information that I never knew about her. She is not one of those celebrity's that shares every single detail of their life on social media or is a frequent flyer in the tabloids. I feel like she was very open, honest, and vulnerable in telling her very personal life. This book was hilarious and I was sad when it ended, I hope she writes another.

I first read this book for class in middle school and it was always one of my favorites. I had my fourth knee surgery and was stuck in bed for months so I reread all the books from middle school and high school classes that I liked. Even as an adult, I still love this book. I think it was one of the first "dystopian" type of book to come out.
There is only one negative of the audiobook that I can think of. There are multiple times in the audiobook where before/during/after Jonas is receiving a memory from the giver, there is very loud and annoying music. It drives me nuts. Besides that I love this book and it will always be a treasured childhood memory.

"In the summer of 1991 I was a normal kid. I did normal things. I had friends and a mother who loved me. I was just like you. Until the day my life was stolen. For eighteen years I was a prisoner. I was an object for someone to use and abuse. For eighteen years I was not allowed to speak my own name. I became a mother and was forced to be a sister. For eighteen years I survived an impossible situation. On August 26, 2009, I took my name back. My name is Jaycee Lee Dugard. I dont think of myself as a victim. I survived...."

A stolen life review

I have listened to this audiobook at least five times. It is so interesting and very inspirational! I highly recommend unless reading about rape/things of that nature disturb you too much or trigger PTSD. Otherwise I think it's a wonderful book and it should be read. Her story is very important to be heard. If you like this book, I recommend trying Elizabeth Smart's story.

Historia
Twice-divorced Dawn's only source of security and comfort, it seems, is Chuck, a pit-bull mix from the pound. So, when her boyfriend announces that he's leaving her for another woman, a despairing Dawn turns to Chuck for solace. "I should have said something sooner," Chuck confides, as he tries to console her. "Couldn't you smell her on his pants?" Dawn is stunned. It's one thing to talk to your pets, but what do you do when they start talking back?

I love this book! I have read it five times and listened to the audio version three times (I have major insomnia so books are very important to me). This book has such a wonderful and creative storyline. I am a huge animal lover and if you are, you will love this book.
