Historia
The causes of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder range from severe neglect to monstrous abuse. Many survivors grew up in houses that were not homes-in families that were as loveless as orphanages and sometimes as dangerous. If you felt unwanted, unliked, rejected, hated, and/or despised for a lengthy portion of your childhood, trauma may be deeply engrained in your mind, soul, and body. This book is a practical guide to recovering from lingering childhood trauma. It is copiously illustrated with examples of the author's and his clients' journeys of recovering.

The detail, the kindness of sharing this
Revisado: 11-18-24
If you want a breakdown of what CPTSD is and one way to approach the healing process, this book is so helpful. I am not reading it as a therapist, but as a person with CPTSD. The only downside to this book is the narrator, he is very droid sounding like robotic. I think this book should be re-recorded either by a person with a kinder sound or even just run it through an AI generated voice because those sound pretty real

Historia
Asian Americans are experiencing a racial reckoning regarding their identity, inspiring them to radically reconsider the cultural frameworks that enabled their assimilation into American culture. As Asian Americans investigate the personal and societal effects of longstanding cultural narratives suggesting they take up as little space as possible, their mental health becomes critically important. Yet despite the fact that over 18 million people of Asian descent live in the United States today—they are the racial group least likely to seek out mental health services.

If you’re at all on the fence about buying this book, let me tell you what to do. By this book, or audiobook. I have never heard in my 47 years anyone discuss the trauma associated with being Asian American within the framework of psychology. I am grateful for the authors hard work and drive, this topic is under addressed. Thank you.
