What is a God? That is one of the primary themes in the story. Mr. Wenesday and the other Gods from the Old World are just as legitimate deities as Technology, Media, and the other New Gods. As long as people pay attention and worship them in one form or another these entities are alive and well. Shadow acts as a commentator and occasional advisor to these entities on behalf of the mortal world. All through the story, he is doing an excellent job of calling the Gods out on their fallacies and suggesting better ways to live. In the end, though he discovers that these Gods care nothing for him or other mortals beyond what they can offer.
Excellent performance by all though

This book is not at all exciting or engaging. It is like listening to a History Lecture

First of All Felix is a putz. He is a little man who is not very smart and has to rely on his "harem" to taken care of him. THe OBVIOUS reliance on "points" without any real explanation on WHAT the points are or WHY they exist or are needed is a BIG plot hole. If you are looking for a good series like this that Jeff Hayes narrates I would recommend Everyone Loves Large Chests instead

By Volume 3 I am confident that this series has what it takes to be a great multi volume series. The characters show pretty good development arcs with the gnome's being the best in my opinion. This series takes what is best about RPGs and adds in enough comedy and style to make it a winner (Boxy's dance number was funny as hell!!)
I look forward to Volumes 4,5, and 6 of this series at least.

The MystBorn Series is a classic story and a wonderful world. By far my favorite character is Seized: The Tarris Servant. He is wise and provides a good mentor character for everyone else. The only complaint I have is the teenage activity between some of the characters. It reminded me of the Twilight Series and not in a good way. I hope that the other books evolve..

Our favorite mimic; Boxey T Morningwood has now fully developed into a mage and warrior and is quite powerful. As the story goes on though it gets a little... domestic... Toward the end of the story our hero has a very regrettable encounter...

The combination of Waximillian and Wayne is the classic "Straight Man and Funny Guy" team. One of the big difference here though is while Wayne is a bit of a goofball he is also very wise is his own way and has a well defined set of morals. Wax is a combination of Sherlock Homes mixed with Matt Dillion from Gunsmoke. Clever, intelligent, and persistant, Wax is still conflicted by his own wants and goals.
The Author has done a wonderful job transitioning the Mistborn Story into an "Old West" Setting

The story is excellent!! I never thought I would find myself rooting for a mimic but Boxy T. Morningwood is a great protagonist.
His amoral and basic way of looking at things is refreshing. To him everything is either good because it benefits him or bad because it doesn't. The major complaint I have is with the hard core and, in many cases unneeded graphic violent pornography that is in the story. I do not have a real issue with this sort of thing when it helps advance the story but in this series it oftentimes makes the story a bit Juvenile.Love the series overall and am waiting for volumes 3 and hopefully 4 to come out soon.
