I loved the insightful conversation on folk Catholicism and the realness on Santa Muerte receiving the respect she deserves. I too am a Chicano folk Catholic and these new agers need to realize that their “pagan only” mindset doesn’t really work in traditional Latin American culture. Our magic is heavily Catholic.
Also the hot take on tik tok “witches” who get all their info from tik tok was much appreciated.

I would like to see some conversation on how magic is a spiritual gift just like being a psychic or medium. Yes technically anyone can hear or a spirit maybe once in their life but it doesn’t make them a medium. Being a medium means you have the spiritual gifts to see and communicate with spirits in a powerful and impactful level.
And similarly, being a witch means you possess the innate spiritual gifts to perform magic on a truly powerful and impactful level. Everyone on social media thinks anyone can be a witch or a psychic or a medium. This is far from the truth.
