Best book I’ve read in years!

It will be hard to move on to something else after the richness of this beautifully written historical fiction. I highly recommend it! Five-plus stars!

A light read but enlightening

I read almost exclusively fiction but was in a mood to try this. Ended up loving it! Gottlieb is a talented writer who brought the stories of her clients - as well as her own therapeutic journey - to life in an entertaining and educational way.

Couldn’t put it down!

This is a sweet story that I completely enjoyed! Josie Silver is a wonderful storyteller, and I found the pace just right. The only slight drawback for me was the narration. Quite often, I found the transition from dialogue to narration confusing - not sure if the character was still speaking or just thinking. (And this likely was not the fault of the narrators - simply the written word.) But it didn’t tamper my overall enjoyment of the book. I found the story well paced, poignant, and satisfying. I’ve already recommended it to friends.

Superb narrator and excellent story!

So glad I took a friend’s recommendation and started this series! The story was well written and held my interest all the way through. In addition, the narrator was PERFECT. She transitioned among the nuances of accent, gender, age, etc. seamlessly. What a talent!
