Historia
Ever since their chance encounter as seatmates on the plane ride from hell, Harry “Harrison” Fields and Harry “Henry” Lee have had a love-hate relationship. But every time their paths have crossed over the years, they’ve grown to like each other more and more, even developing an unlikely friendship. Now, Harrison is a fun-loving music teacher who wears his heart on his sleeve, and Henry is a hard-driving business man who’s still striving to get out of his father’s shadow.

It wasn't a story issue...
Revisado: 06-08-23
I enjoyed this story very much generally speaking.
However two things really made it painful.
1) the music tracks between each chapter felt so out of place and killed any emotional feeling that might be there.
2) Extremely difficult to follow who's point of view. even though a name was stated at the beginning of a section, sometimes it was hard to tell because the pov would often NOT change at the break and when it did, you had to really be sure who's pov it was.
Small production choices really affected the whole.on this one for me .

Historia
Searching for Bobby Fischer is the story of Fred Waitzkin and his son, from the moment six-year-old Josh first sits down at a chessboard until he competes for the national championship. Drawn into the insular, international network of chess, they must also navigate the difficult waters of their own relationship. All the while, Waitzkin searches for the elusive Bobby Fischer, whose myth still dominates the chess world and profoundly affects Waitzkin’s dreams for his son.

A fantastic execution of terrific content!

James had a compelling performance throughout the entirety of this audiobook. channeling all of the energy and enthusiasm of the author, it lent authenticity and drama to an already remarkable story.
The only drawback I had was there were several repeated sections of about 10 to 15 seconds throughout the book which unfortunately prevented this from getting all five stars in all categories.
