Historia
Most all tarot books present card-by-card interpretations as well as an instruction on how to read spreads. This book takes the next logical step inward by presenting the art of reading in a workbook format and helps you learn to interpret the cards intuitively. The book falls into two parts. The first part concerns learning about the cards and includes exercises for each card that teaches you to trust your interpretation of the card. The second part helps you develop that ability, a skill that Reed calls “intuition”.

Great for beginners or seasoned readers alike!
Revisado: 08-04-21
I originally chose this book because the majority of other audible tarot books clearly have tons of fake reviews. This one looked genuine, and when I researched Theresa Reed, it was clear that she was the real deal. I've been reading for over a year now, so while I'm no newbie, I still found this very insightful. I've been looking for something to help tap into my intuitive side, and this did not disappoint! If you're looking for detailed, in-depth descriptions of all the cards, this might not be for you, although there ARE descriptions. But the real magic of the book lies in Reed's anecdotes and tips that come from decades of doing tarot readings. The organization is easy and effortless, and she really manages to cover all the bases. Highly recommended!

Entertaining, practical, and fun!

I loved listening to this! The narration was great and the content super helpful as a novice tarot reader myself. I've read and/or listened to many books on tarot over the past few years, but this was by far the most accessible and engaging!

Quick, sweet, and fun!
Revisado: 06-28-18
I was looking for just a quick, fun romance novel to listen to, and this hit the spot! I really liked the unique premise--the "evil mad scientist" falls in love--and it's hard not to love Dr. Mechanus. :)
On the downside, it would have been nice to dig deeper and get more character development, and overall it's a bit cliché. The ending was just a tad bit of a let down, or else I probably would have rated it 4 stars. It's also a bit clean for my taste, but there are a couple of sweet kisses.
Narration was solid!

Historia
Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

Hilarious and refreshing!
Revisado: 03-16-18
Would you listen to The Duchess Deal again? Why?
Yes
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Duke of Ashbury.
What does Mary Jane Wells bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't think I would have enjoyed this book quite as much had I read it. Wells made the characters sparkle and come alive.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both--but mostly laugh!
Any additional comments?
Four-star read, but a FIVE star audio listen made possible by Mary Jane Wells.
This was laugh-out-loud hilarious. Which takes a lot for me at 8:00 in the morning when I'm sitting in traffic on the way to work with no coffee. In true Tessa Dare style, the plot borders on slapstick and anachronisms abound. This time, however--I didn't mind it all. It just worked. The plot was fun, the romance was tender and refreshing, and the narrator made the characters sparkle.
And Wells' wonderful, spot-on rendition of the arrogant, intelligent, and curmudgeonly Duke of Ashbury is worth the price of the audiobook right there ;)

Historia
Nestled in the shadow of the Appalachians is where Gwen Ashby stumbles upon the William Marshall Academy, and she's given a trial position as a literature teacher. The gothic boarding school seems trapped in time, yet it feels like home the moment Gwen arrives. She's charmed by the lovely buildings, bewitched by the eager students...and utterly seduced by the headmaster. Edwin Yorke is noble, handsome, and infuriatingly proper. But his tweedy exterior and courtly manners conceal a raw, sensual power.

Boring and insulting to your intelligence
Revisado: 01-13-18
What did you like best about The Headmaster? What did you like least?
I couldn't even finish this. The narrator tried, but the writing was just so poor that it was futile. Save your credit and money.
