1 Sam 13 records "blank" twice instead of years at beginning of the chapter that should be corrected. otherwise, so far, i enjoy hearing the version. it has given me some cultural context not seen in the KJV.

A Necessity for Bible Study

I've read many books, trying to truly understand my Bible. Learning ancient south-eastern concepts by modern north-western Christians can be grasped superficially at best, unless someone with knowledge and experience leads us to light. Of all of the books I've read, Rabbi Sobel has imparted readers not only a few nuggets of wisdom but more boulders than you can number! Toward the end of the book, you will understand why the ancient characters were written about and their place in the Lord's genealogy... and why that matters. Father God truly is the Supreme Father, and this book illustrates it beautifully. It is not a book that you can read and put on the shelf. It is one to reread and devour, to gain as much wisdom as it holds.
