Very little actual story here. No character development. Narration was adequate at best; emotionless, often flat. This “book” was one quarter story, three quarters sex marathon. Not worth the credit.

Good Story, Something off

An otherwise good story with a thread of ugly jealousy & male character meanness that was off putting. Still, excellent performances. I re-listen now & then, thinking I’ve misunderstood the whole of it somehow……..

All In The Family Spooks

I liked the story itself! Fast paced, well developed story line, interesting characters; hero’s & villains! Just enough steamy scenes; didn’t leave the story as an afterthought! The story incorporated humor and heartbreak to keep the reader engaged. The narration was superb!

Good stories overall

Overall rating for this book/Performance is 3 stars. Adequate character development, but the second worst narrator I've ever heard. she mispronounced common words. Her delivery was flat & failed to convey the emotion and tension of the story. Her voice should paint a verbal picture of the story for the readers. her delivery is slightly sing song & I found myself cringing as her performance was an assault an assault on the ears!. I liked the author's story although I got the impression this might be a new calling. keep at it!

The long whine

Struggled to finish. i've tried to get into this book several times. Don't know why it irritates me so much; well, yes. I do. The main chacters spend entire book whining to one another; she from lack of confidence and self esteem , and he because of his brutal upbringing as a killer and his anxiety about his woman rejecting him! unfortunately the female narrator was unable to pull off the story line and was miserable trying to portray the authoratative Hispanic crime boss. the weak performance made this book sound like a mediocre romance . I would say that half the book is redundant throbbing genitalia and nothing new orgasms. there wasn't much room for plot, full chacters, or we'll developed story line. I'm done with this.

Captivating Story By Carson McCullers

powerful, sometimes gut wrenching story! Grabs your heart and doesn't let go as you navigate the lives of these impoverished Southern folks through the depression and WWII. I cried. This story is tremendously insightful, cloaked in fullbodied compelling characters and superbly performed by Cherry Jones. I'm sure I will listen to The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter again and again!

Leopard's Wrath

Good story line with well developed characters. The sex scene with the female character handcuffed to the bed was off putting and tasteless. it made me angry for her. if I ever read this book again I'll have to fast forward past that scene. when Mitra told his lady he wasn't a nice man, she should have taken it to heart and run! I guess, to give the devil his due, the performance of Jim Frangione was excellent and the overall story was very good.

OBSIDIAN BUTTERFLY

A truly top draw novel! So nice to listen to a wonderful, well written story with not one gratuitous sex scene! How refreshing! Characters were fleshed out beautifully so the reader knows who the people are and what they're about and why they've come together do do what they do best. Kimberly Alexis is simply the best of the best narrators in the business. she IS Anita Blake!

A Very Good Read!

story and plot is well planned and grabs the reader immediately. For the most part characters are well developed and appropriate for the genre although I wasn't sure about the heroine at first. As the story progresses she becomes stronger emotionally and physically. This is a good solid shifter romance with the requisite stunningly built hero with a loving heart. The narration was very nearly flawless; loved Ryan West's deep voice. I give his performance five stars! I'll check more from Kym Grosso!
