Historia
Booker T. Washington fought his way out of slavery to become an educator, statesman, political shaper, and proponent of the "do-it-yourself" idea. In his autobiography, he describes his early life as a slave on a Virginia plantation, his steady rise during the Civil War, his struggle for education, his schooling at the Hampton Institute, and his years as founder and president of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, which was devoted to helping minorities learn useful, marketable skills.

Champion of Freedom, a Must Read for all students
Revisado: 08-01-22
Hearing about of the life of Booker T. Washington is a much needed respite from the racial divide in the modern day era of American history, His life's accomplishments, the things he so desired for his people, his personal beliefs permeated throughout his life's work. One would think it to be a twist of fate that a solitary Black man raised in the post Civil War era with its stigma against the hard working colored men and women would have His name one day revered with much deserved awe and inspiration. He embraced His troubles and made the best out of each opportunity to raise up his fellow man. He didnt critique or belittle others for his position in life either. He held to the promises he made and kept them to the letter as best He could with the help of Almighty God. He was a generous, benevolent and endearing person who sought great change in the post abolition Southern and Northern regions of the United States.
Before, purchasing this audiobook, I had no idea that He had such close ties to many notable and esteemed persons regardless of the color of their skin to aid him in the great undertaking of furthering the Blacl man's educational pursuits at Tuskegee Institute. This was a brilliant and noble man, whose charity and zest for a better way of life in the United States would later be considered a role model of self control and religious discipline. One that is sorely needed in the halls of both Black and White students, educators and working men and women. I find it puzzling though, that in his many travels across the country and outside of the country he had not spent time with others outside of his definition of Black and White. For example: The Mulatto or mixed people of color that lived in Europe and the United States. I applaud how he championed the rights of both the free and former slaves. He refused to let such factors as personal income or lodging prevent the way of progress.
Another chapter that I took to liking, was the transitional period where he and few others personally invited and insisted that his fellow citizens invested in their education, and provided room and board for numerous future scholars out of his own pocket. Mr. Washington and his wife shouldered with great care the burdens of responsibility of the educational merits for all.
I applaud the narration by Mr. Noah Watrerman and the writers of this autobiography. I encourage each reader and listener, research and discover more about the life of Mr. Booker T. Washington to add to their own personal growth as humble citizens and recapture the essence of a flourishing nation amidst the gentrification and political upheaval that has divided so many of us. Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

Michael Jr. is a blessed author, father, comedian and inspiration
Revisado: 12-23-21
From the setups to the punchline, each story Michael Jr. shares is packed with truth, dignity and compassion. From his early beginnings in Stand up comedy to his insight into the life of a servant leader. Each chapter is expertly written and takes you on a journey of discovery to embrace the path that God has for you. Comedy has given him so much and he pays it forward by embracing the challenge in bringing the funny to the hurting, the lonely, and the forgotten. What a beautiful picture of God’s love and mercy. I thoroughly enjoyed my time listening. The narration was engineered very well. I hope that many people will see that their situation is not hopeless and that they are not forgotten.

Interesting Topic, Not so exciting audiobook
Revisado: 12-07-20
The narrator and co-narrators were too simplistic wirh their delivery. Nothing really grabbed my attention while listening to this audiobook. Each person's dialogue is rather stale and sounds like a vocal recording in an empty room. I was hoping for more of an emotional retelling and eye opening look at how difficult being a stuntman in Hollywood can be. However, I was left wanting more. Even though Amy Johnston is a talented stuntwoman. Her narration needs lots of practice. There was very little conflict or resolution, no cliffhangers. It was like listening to a boring lecture without the eye catching slides to keep me hanging on to every spoken word of dialogue. Perhaps, she could shed some more light upon the subject by having some intimate conversations with the people who instrumental in furthering her career.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Trevor Noah's delivered a masterpiece
Revisado: 09-11-20
Trevor Noah's reflections on a painful, emotionally awkward, abusive relationship with his "stepfather" his loving relationshipswith his mother, and brothers and close friends. I was intrigued, tickled and shocked by his painful recollections of a childhood growing up in the midst of a turbulent South Africa during Apartheid years and apartheid. Each chapter was well paced, and his voice is easily understood. His proficiency in the English language astounds the naysayers and his humorous approach to even traumatic experiences he endured is a triumph. Despite the violence his mother endured at the hands of her abusive boyfriend and the inability of the government to grant them safe haven. He harbors little bitterness against the ones who failed him. My favorite part of the whole book is the life lessons he learned throughout his ordeals. While the language may not be suitable for all audiences. I believe that all the listeners will benefit from his candid comments and reflections on growing up in a impoverished neighborhood. The truths he shares about the world we live in are powerfully driven, and appreciated. Thank you Mister Noah for being who you are.

Common put on a show for the ages.
Revisado: 08-20-20
My man, Common has been live with Hip-Hop since his infancy and the life lessons he learned from his dad were indeed timeless. An accomplished poet, actor, father, storyteller, Academy Award Winner in his own right. He invites the audience into his world and educates the listeners with solid facts over fiction. A remarkable performance with live instrumentation and a few surprise guests. If you're fan of Chi-Town, it's ills and inspiration let this recording help lift your spirit up. He touches on the most poignant topics, from adolescence, Peter pressure, the allure of being a celebrity, to venturing out into the world with Hip-Hop as a vehicle to become what he desired to be. Let the backdrop of Hip-Hop be your guide as you listen in to his personal testimony. Vibe to the hits and gain clarity on some the most important things to be spoken and touched on in Hip-Hop's nearly 50 year history. Rediscover the passion and pursuit of a life lived for purpose.

A Maiden Voyage of Honesty and Wit
Revisado: 02-02-18
Memorable from start to finish, heartwarming, well written and beautifully narrated. With her first book she's captured her funny, endearing and emotionally uplifting tales with each chapter. Each person that she has come to know through the years somehow get absorbed into your life. After hearing her put her experience with each of them. They are the stars that shine in her world, that have led her and helped her along her life. Hearing about her family and friends are what sets this book apart. The personal conviction, and relatable joys and fears will pull in you in. I thought this was rather well produced and I enjoyed listening to Lindsey emote with such brilliance and deep rooted honesty. This candid book is quite the treasure for any lone pirate at the party to unearth. Thank you Brooke and Lindsey for the sharing your inspirational memories with such a collective audience of both cheerful fans and naysayers alike. This was a stupendous voyage of discovery and life changing shenanigans and heartache. I hope you two continue writing and set sail for more grand adventures on the high seas of life. Love your music, Lindsey :D

Revisado: 07-12-17
Ernie Johnson deserves an award for this book. You don't want to miss out on the incredible journey of faith, family and fun that he has been blessed to unpack. to the listener. The life lessons that his dad and wife have taught him are a highlight for sure. What a treat! I was particularly impressed and grateful to have been given the opportunity to hear about his family. The joys and the pains amidst the twists and turns that unexpectedly helped him place his faith in God, the Father. It' is truly satisfying to hear that from a man of integrity and humility. You would have never have guessed it by just hearing his voice, or seeing him on TNT's Inside the NBA. After reading/listening to this book, I have come to recognize that he's a gifted author, writer/poet sportscaster, husband, father and friend. This is a book that I really enjoyed listening to. The audible narration is loud and clear. He keeps his emotions in check. Even though there are some truly heartfelt moments where you want to shed a tear. The way he thrills you with those important milestones in his life. And how he inspires you as you read is amazing in its own right. To God be the glory. There's nothing crass, immature or off putting in his book. He simply tells it like it is. Finally, "Unscripted: The Unpredictable Moments That Make Life Extraordinary is a "blackberry moment" that should not be missed. Great job, Ernie!
