Historia
Networking: It’s the most effective way to build a career, right? It is if you do it the right way, building trust along with your list of contacts. Tiffany Pham, author of You Are a Mogul, shows you how making connections is just the start. How you treat them is what really matters. Pham teaches you how to be a giver and not an exploiter, treating your network as a collection of lasting friendships that require nurturing and communication. She shares how networking can help you conquer imposter syndrome by giving you opportunities to show your strengths.

Good advice, too bad it’s wrapped in woke garbage
Revisado: 02-01-24
To the author: you’re not a victim, you haven’t been oppressed. You are race baiting by talking about how you were worried you’d be oppressed because you’re a ‘minority’ (news flash Asians account for 60% of the world’s population). In your next breath you go on to say you had an idyllic childhood in Paris, then you say you went to an Ivy League school and got your break from connections. You e lived a privileged life, lady.
And all that is fine and dandy but you left one big part out. You never corrected your initial statement, you only provided evidence to the contrary.

Loved this book as a child, and now as an adult
Revisado: 03-31-23
This one is a classic. There are multiple belly laugh moments and a couple tear jerkers. Great boy and his dogs book and it comes together nicely at the end.
Def. Recommend to anyone 10 or older.

From a businessman who is extraordinarily humble yet is considered one of the world's most visionary, The First Billion Is the Hardest is both a riveting account of a life spent pulling off improbable triumphs and a report back from the front of the global energy and natural-resource wars - of vital interest to anyone who has a stake in America's future.

Seems like he got lucky in the end and called it skill
Revisado: 04-07-20
I had just finished “I Love Capitalism” and decided another book by an 80-something Billionaire would be great. I loved the Capitalism book, so I thought I’d give the late T. Boone Pickens book a shot.
The contract was stark. Pickens seems arrogant and insecure. I listened to the entire book and the further I got into it, the more it appeared he just got lucky. Which is fine, I’m not hating on a bit of luck. But to write a book about how you came to your success, that’s not a good bet for the rest of us to follow.
By the end of the book it became clear this guy wrote this book as a means of promoting Wind and Solar energies, something he was heavily invested in at the time.
The book read well, had some good parts like any book. His arrogance just didn’t sit well with me.
FYI he also positioned himself in the book to have refined the “hostile takeover” maneuvers we see in today’s market. I respect the technique but not the man that uses them.

Historia
This is a fast-paced, carefully documented, and rich biography of Barnum, the greatest showman of all time, the American from Bethel, Connecticut, whose eccentricities and oblique, cynical approach to humanity transformed entertainment into a big, incredibly profitable business. As bachelor, husband (twice), father, and grandfather, Barnum comes to life in Mr. Wallace's crowded audiobook, an exceedingly interesting and human man. Here, too, are New York City in all its 19th century color, the London of Queen Victoria, and the Paris of Napoleon III.

Who knew this guy was so badass!
Revisado: 12-31-19
As usual, the movie doesn’t hold a candle to the truth. This guy truly created an industry and deserves a name to be remembered. He started with little, made a lot, lost everything, and still ended up on top with time in his life to enjoy his second fortune.
Was relatively well read, no major issues, but you will notice a few awkward pauses/RE reads but nothing that ruins the read.

Started great
Revisado: 07-28-19
This book read great, it’s the story I didn’t like.
Dickens Hs a specific format he likes to follow, and I like his books for that reason. But I was disappointed at the ending this one had. Truthfully about a third of the way through it took a turn I didn’t like but I kept reading on.
This book ends in classic Dickens’ fashion, just felt rushed and quick to wrap up.
Glad I ‘read it’, but I won’t be coming back to it anytime soon.

Book is HORRIBLY repetitive
Revisado: 01-16-17
What disappointed you about Your 3 Best Super Powers?
Seriously- this sounds like it was written for a 2 year old. Way to repetitive to listen to the entire book.
