Riveting and Thought Provoking
Revisado: 09-12-24
Wow! So much to comment on. It was truly eye opening to read this book from the lens of a Nurse who served in Vietnam. All of the emotions experienced from volunteering to serving to returning home. I think I felt the same emotions as I read through each period Frankie’s life. Highly recommend!

Unselfish
Revisado: 08-20-24
I do believe Solene truly loved Hayes. I don’t believe she just lived the “idea” of them together. She made a very difficult decision in the end which was truly an unselfish decision. I think it was the right decision too for the sake of her daughter’s well being. As a reader, it was hard to accept that decision as final because they were so likeable together. You wanted them to stay together. But it was such an internal struggle for Solene all throughout their time together. She had definite moments of happiness. But she was never truly at peace about their relationship.
