Those who can, teach. Marvin Block is one of the best kindergarten teachers out there. And despite his anxiety, Marvin’s life is sweet. He knows what he wants. And what he wants is the Teacher of the Year Award. Not just for himself--his school needs him to win. Returning from break, the New Year finds Marvin all set to welcome a new pupil to his class. But when Illona walks in with her cute-as-hell single dad beside her, Marvin’s focus starts to slide. Sure, his students always come first, but he deserves to have a life outside the classroom, too, right?

Perfectly PC Gay Romance…
Revisado: 03-26-24
I really liked the book and the author (and narrator) did a great job of making the characters a bit more REAL with great backstory interwoven throughout the entire story! My biggest issues was that everything was SO overtly “politically correct” - asking for consent for seemingly every interaction. The “let’s make sure we get tested before we don’t need ******* (prophylactics)” even tho is both characters wouldn’t have needed that based off the authors backstories for each of them. The best friend character Jill was hysterical and I loved their representation of her. Funny, modern and sexy - I very much enjoyed this book!!

This audiobook could best be described as a lab manual with simple experiments that prove reality is malleable, consciousness trumps matter, and you shape your life with your mind. Yes, you read that right. It says prove. The nine experiments, each of which can be conducted with absolutely no money and very little time expenditure, demonstrate that spiritual principles are as dependable as gravity, as consistent as Newton's laws of motion.

Simple, practical, inspiring!

Great from content to narration! I'll be listening again for sure! :)
I'm also interested in Pam Grout's other publications... If she uses the same wit, humor & care to convey her message - I'll be an even bigger fan.

Love DOES mean Courage...
Revisado: 09-21-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Love Means... Courage to be better than the print version?
YES! I believe this narrator does an EXCELLENT job of bringing to life the story with great voice inflection and emotion!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Love Means... Courage?
When Cliff realizes that he is surrounded by love - rejecting all that is negative and hateful, even if it comes from his own family.
What does Sawyer Allerde bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Again - emotion, life & vibrancy to the characters! I loved the way that Sawyer Allerde describes the setting, town & farm... Makes me feel as if I could see this 80's Western story unfold in front of me.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
... The end! I'm not giving anything away!
Any additional comments?
Great Author! Can't wait to read more Andrew Grey books!

Historia
Sebastian Franklin has waited a long time to prove himself as front of the house manager at Cafe Belgie, but his first night in charge while Darryl, his boss, is on vacation is less than a success. The restaurant is robbed at closing time, and the Good Samaritan who foiled the robber comes with his own complications. Robert Fortier is the county’s newest judge, and a reluctant one at that. He is well aware that a public life is not always easy, especially when your personal life makes you the target of a media frenzy.

Had to warm up to the narrator - but a good story!
Revisado: 09-01-13
Where does A Serving of Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Although I thoroughly enjoyed a 'Serving of Love' – some of Andrew Grey's other writings (the 'love means...' Series) a bit more. Overall, a good read!
Have you listened to any of Jeff Gelder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first time listening to this narrator. It took me a while to warm up to him… But once I did, I found that I enjoyed the story more & more.
Any additional comments?
I loved that Andrew Grey wrote a current story - which allowed me to relate to the characters well. He's a good author & I look forward to reading more selections by him.

A fantastic way to approach business!
Revisado: 02-04-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Setting the Table to be better than the print version?
Yes! Danny Meyer's voice allows you to hear the words delivered with power and finesse!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Setting the Table?
His deeply personal stories that allow the reader to connect with him as the author & narrator! With his descriptions and candor he makes you want to not only be a better employee... but to have your good employees be great & that the reader can follow his same principles to create those great employees in ALL points of the biz world!
Have you listened to any of Danny Meyer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
His realization that it was time to let go of Eleven Madison Park... a restaurant that he loved dearly after all of the time it took to get it off the ground. Although he was selling it to (essentially) the exec chef, he knew he had to do it & that he could continue to build & create amazing restaurants in the future!
Any additional comments?
Amazing book & great read!
