I struggled with finishing this story. While the premise/plot a was fairly decent, the delivery left a lot to be desired. I very much disliked the fact that this was not narrated by a human, and that the female lead was narrated by a male AI voice. Because it was a male voice, it often made it hard to follow Audrey's point of view and kept thinking that it was Kiev's part being read. It made the story confusing. Because this was narrated by AI, there were quite a few instances where certain words, phrases, ans questions were either robotic or high pitched when the words spoken shouldn't be high pitched. When scenes changed within a story, there was no break between the scenes and the narrator kept speaking like it was a run on sentence. That made it feel like the story randomly jumped and didn't make sense until I realized it was a new scene in the chapter. Certain phrases were also said in a weird way, which made the female lead sound kind of ditzy in parts as well. The AI voice very much ruined the story for me and made me wonder if this had even been listened to/edited before being uploaded.

I really tried, but 12 or 13 chapters in and I just could not get into this book. There's some bit of jumping around in the timeline that makes it confusing. I don't know if it's the writing, or if parts of the book were left out when it uploaded? A few times, there is mention of the old alpha, Heath, being deceased, before she returned to the pack, yet later in another chapter the FMC is suddenly a call girl on a date with him where she's slipping something into his drink and he later ended up unalived, but not by her? I'm wondering if I got an old, unedited, version of the book somehow? How can he be previously deceased, and then on a date with her? And unfortunately, the narrator made the story boring. Everything is said very hum drum, very little emotion. It's not monotone, it's just lacking any energy. Sorry, I wanted to like it, I just couldn't.

This is one of the best series I've read/listened to in a while. Fantastic storytelling!

Just finished this series. I loved the story, for the most part. There was one thing in particular that really irritated the crap out of me, though, and that is the amount of insults and belittling Kit has to put up with in the book. Not just from characters outside her little band of merry mates, but from one of her mates as well. Austin is a total jerk to her through most of the series, even after he and Kit bonded. He very rarely has anything nice to say to her. He is just straight up mean, and not once in the entire series do ANY of her other guys tell him to knock it off or stand up for her. Not one time. Even his twin brother just lets it happen. They all just let her take the insults and go on about their day like it never happened. Although a couple of times when she complained, Wes and River basically gaslit her into believing she was at fault for something. So many other times in the series do other characters say awful things to her, and the guys just standby and say... nothing. So many times I wanted to reach into the pages and shake some sense into the guys and tell them to defend her. If it happened rarely, I probably wouldn't be bothered, but it's constant thru the whole series. Her 6 bonds should have been standing up for her. Yeah, they fought alongside her, battling evil, but they sure didn't stand up for her. I wish she would have spoken up more about it and put them all in their places for it.
