Good, not great
Revisado: 08-12-21
I disagree with many who have complained about the narrator, I thought he did a very good job, especially with using different voices for each character.
The story was good and the characters were interesting. I was able to overlook some plot holes, but it’s not Mr. King’s best work. Also not his worst.

Historia
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...especially a dead one holding a grudge. Back on Deadwood's list of usual suspects, Violet Parker is hip deep in wild frights and fired-up females. After juggling bitter threats, haunted buildings, and vengeful ghosts, the last thing she needs is a pair of bullheaded detectives trying to pin another murder on her tail. Can Violet find the real killer before she ends up behind bars? Or worse, on a slab at the morgue.

Keeps getting better!
Revisado: 04-21-17
I love this series! The books are fun, often hilarious, and genuinely good mysteries. A Wild Fright is my new favorite (until the next one, probably). The reader also a favorite, portraying each character with a distinctive voice.
Although lots of otherworldly, fantastical things happen in Violet's world, the cast of characters feel so realistically drawn by Ms. Charles that you can almost believe it all.
Can't wait for the next one.

Should Be Free. Short-short + writing exercise
Revisado: 01-24-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It provides some info that pertains to the series, so yes. But only if it is free, or maybe 99 cents. I wouldn't recommend paying for it. Bonus material like the author's interview with her main character is usually offered at the end of a full length book. You know, as a bonus. Using it as filler to make up for the shortness of the story is kind of a d*** move.
Would you ever listen to anything by Ann Charles again?
Yes, I like the series and the author, Ann Charles. I won't buy the .5 short stories that Audible is offering for this series again. Fool me once, blah, blah, blah.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Why not use the usual series narrator? I think that would have been better. Lisa Larsen did a good job, but why not use Caroline Shaffer? It makes Seeing Trouble feel even less like a short story and more like a fragment or an out-take.

Historia
Rowan Greenwood has everything she's supposed to want from life - a good family, a bright future, and a proposal from a handsome and wealthy magic hunter. She knows she should be content with what she has. If only she could banish the idea that there's more to life than marriage and children, or let go of the fascination with magic that she's been forced to suppress since childhood.

Great start to a series. Don't understand the negative reviews about the narrators. I hope the rest of the series will soon be available on Audible!!
