Historia
On the isle of Ithaca, queen Penelope maintains a delicate balance of power. Many years ago, her husband Odysseus sailed to war with Troy and never came home. In his absence, Penelope uses all her cunning to keep the peace—a peace that is shattered by the return of Orestes, King of Mycenae, and his sister Elektra. Orestes' hands are stained with his mother's blood. Not so long ago, the son of Agamemnon took Queen Clytemnestra's life on Ithaca's sands. Now, wracked with guilt, he is slowly losing his mind.

Monotonous
Revisado: 04-24-25
This author must be writing from a contemporary viewpoint she uses the F word liberally as if they use that word in those days. The story is weak. There actually is no story. I’ve read many of these that are enthralling and wonderful. This is not one of them. It does not captivate your attention. It merely draws on and on and on.

Historia
Thoreau's classic account of the solitary life, describing his attempts to simplify his life and sort out his priorities by living alone in a cabin beside Walden Pond for nearly two years, is one of the most influential books ever written. The bible of the environmental movement, Walden vividly portrays Thoreau's reverence for nature, and his understanding of the idea that nature is made up of crucially interrelated parts.

Terrible narration.
Revisado: 12-02-24
He sounds pissed off 100% of the time. I’ve read this on my own and it was a soothing book. This is NOT. I don’t know if he took license for his performance on what he supposed Thoreau would have sounded like or what. But this is an angry audible. I won’t finish it. I will return it.

Historia
If you don’t understand communist revolutions, you aren’t ready for what’s coming. The old rules are over. The old order is over. Accusations are evidence. Activism means bigotry and hate. Criminals are allowed to roam free. Citizens are locked up. An appetite for vengeance is unleashed—to deplatform, debank, destroy. This is the daily news, yet none of it’s new. Patterns from the past make sense of our present. They also foretell a terrifying future we might be condemned to endure.

The content is unequal. Wonderful
Revisado: 07-30-24
I loved the content. So very informative. I’m guessing it will be banned shortly. I’ll order a hard copy just in case.
The narration could be greatly improved. The content is so good that I am adjusting. I have listened to over 50 audible books. This is the first one that I had to speed up to 1.2. The 1.0 isn’t correct. Big surprise. At 1.2 it is good. The narration should have been someone else.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Historia
Justine is the first volume in the Alexandria Quartet, four interlinked novels set in the sensuous, hot environment of Alexandria just before the Second World War. Within this polyglot setting of richly idiosyncratic characters is Justine, wild and intense, wife to the wealthy businessman Nessim, a Mari complaisant. Her emotional and sexual wildness fuels a highly charged atmosphere.

Very Oppressive, it relates a story about Justine. Justine has a very dark past. It is not particularly engrossing. Definitely not enjoyable. I do not find the character(s) intriguing.

Historia
These 36 lectures tell the remarkable story of a tumultuous thousand-year period in the history of England. Dominated by war, conquest, and the struggle to balance the stability brought by royal power with the rights of the governed, it was a period that put into place the foundation of much of the world we know today. As you journey through this largely chronological narrative you'll see key themes emerge, including the assimilation of successive waves of invaders, the tense relationship between kings and the nobility, and the constant battles over money and taxation.

Revisado: 06-22-22
This was so informative. Actually, the correlation to America and the upheaval we are encountering are not unlike the UK. I loved it. Much can be said for everyone taking these classes. The narrator was excellent, at first I wasn’t too sure I would enjoy hours of listening to her. In the end she was enjoyable. So steeped in history, fascinating. I recommend for all!

Excellent narration.
Revisado: 05-09-22
The story was excellent. In 2022 as we experience our civilization changing it was comforting (a little) to know this story has happened again and again. It is a romantic love story, a violent war story(a bit too much). It was told by an excellent narrator. She was perfect for this book. Many have heard the story before. The details were so enveloping.

Good information
Revisado: 03-23-22
I thought the information was invaluable. It should be a must read for every person. New, cutting edge, technology is amazing. He understands the cost as significant and not available to everyone. I’ve never listened to his self help books or seminars. I’m sure they would be very helpful to those that need it. I have TBI and MS. The information is so promising. The long and short is eat better, give up sugar(my major weakness) and exercise. Right, on every count. Good book, excellent information, buy it, listen to it! Thank you, I will look for updates. Maybe in my lifetime(62), there will be mainstream affordable treatment. Good job!
Tony, you are excellent at your career path, thank you for choosing to narrate the first and last chapters.

What an interesting story. The final chapter should be the first. It answered many questions the book presented.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
