Historia
Ignatius Perrish spent the night drunk and doing terrible things. He woke up the next morning with a thunderous hangover, a raging headache, and a pair of horns growing from his temples. At first Ig thought the horns were a hallucination, the product of a mind damaged by rage and grief. He had spent the last year in a lonely, private purgatory, following the death of his beloved, Merrin Williams, who was raped and murdered under inexplicable circumstances.

A lot of weird hateful reviews here, ignore them
Revisado: 02-26-22
I keep seeing reviews from people uptight about the satanic tropes and cursing in this book. In all fairness if those things offend you, this isn't your book. But I absolutely love it.
This is a book about a sweet romance that ended in tragedy, a man coping with his own regret and everyone else's misplaced disgust, and his search for justice for an unforgivable act that took the woman he loved from the world. Ig takes on the hate, selfishness and sin of the people in a small town and turns it back on them with his newfound power while in the search or the real man that raped and murdered the love of his life. Ig begins to see the worst in people, even the people he loved and trusted most, but this allows him to recognize and appreciate those in his life that are truly good. Without spoiling the ending too much, it is one that may leave people with mixed feelings but, to me, was beautiful and prefect for the story.

Fun story with a ton of humor
Revisado: 07-28-20
The premise, that of an ordinary geek gaining access to and manipulation over the fabric of reality, time and space, sets up a ton of potential for story telling. No doubt, this is why the series already has 6 books out at the time of this review. My fiance and I are actually on the 3rd book already and my only regret is that because we are listening together, I can't listen to it when I'm at work or driving on my own. We've managed to get most of my fiance's family listening to the books too and they all love it.
Exploring the potential of being able to see and edit every quantifiable aspect of people and reality is a compelling idea. And the social interactions between a bunch of nerds throughout time humanizes and grounds the experience. I may be biased as a nerdy computer guy myself, but the I loves the characters and related heavily with them and their sense of humor. The performance and voice acting are particularly stellar and make jokes that may have fallen flat on ink and paper uproariously funny when so much personality is put into their dialogue. If you're into tech and fantasy and love a humorous adventure, definitely worth a read.
