Women are like spaghetti, because their thought process runs on and on in an interconnecting web, and men are like waffles because they compartmentalize and "sit" in sometimes blank boxes, just to relax.

Hard to listen
Revisado: 04-28-24
I think they were trying to make an engaging and cute study of gender differences, but I found the reading and examples so cringy I almost had to stop. I did learn some things about how I think, but I have no idea how to work through the problems. This book, in my opinion, encourages women not to take responsibility, and encourages men to apologize just to fix the situation. As a recently wed man, my attitude (and the way I treat my wife) has been worse while listening to this book.

Historia
Have we been taught to discount the veracity and deeper meaning of our emotional resonance with the world around us? In The Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis looks at the curriculum of the English "prep school" and begins to wonder if this subliminal teaching has indeed produced a generation who discount such a nature.

Hard to understand without reading the rest of C. S. Lewis, but I still think it should be mandatory reading for all politicians; and anyone who has ever read Nitzche.

Historia
J. Gresham Machen once said, "False ideas are the greatest obstacles to the reception of the Gospel" - which makes apologetics that much more important. Wanting to engage not just academics and pastors but Christian laypeople and seekers, William Lane Craig has revised and updated key sections in this third edition of his classic text to reflect the latest work in astrophysics, philosophy, probability calculus, arguments for the existence of God, and Reformed epistemology.

One stop shop for philosophical evangelism. Probably won't make sence to the type of person who thinks you can have 100% proof of a worldview. Can't think of anything to dislike.

Historia
Cracking the communication code between husband and wife involves understanding one thing: that unconditional respect is as powerful for him as unconditional love is for her. It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Love and Respect is for anyone.

Historia
Before its end as a nation, there appeared in ancient Israel nine specific warnings and omens of national destruction. These same nine harbingers are now manifesting in America with profound ramifications for America’s future and end-time prophecy. Hidden in an ancient biblical prophecy from Isaiah, the mysteries revealed in The Harbinger are so precise that they foretell recent American events down to the exact days.

Historia
For centuries, the story of Adam and Eve has resonated richly through the corridors of art, literature, and theology. But for most moderns, taking it at face value is incongruous. Author John Walton explores the ancient Near Eastern context of Genesis 2-3, creating space for a faithful reading of Scripture along with full engagement with science for a new way forward in the human origins debate.

Historia
Regarding gender relations, the evangelical world is divided between complementarians and egalitarians. While both perspectives have much to contribute, the discussion has reached a stalemate. Michelle Lee-Barnewall critiques both sides of the debate, challenging the standard premises and arguments and offering new insight into a perennially divisive issue in the church. She brings fresh biblical exegesis to bear on our cultural situation, presenting an alternative way to move the discussion forward based on a corporate perspective and on kingdom values.

Historia
As the modern church struggles to find a place of relevancy for a new generation that already has massive demands on its time and attention, more and more young people raised in the church are leaving it - failing to find the answers to their questions. Join authors Dr. Jason Lisle and Tim Chaffey as they put forth a case against an old-earth interpretation of Scripture. A comprehensive biblical, theological, and scientific critique of old-earth creationism, the book presents its compelling testimony in layman's terms to create a powerful debate that leads to unquestionable truth.

I appreciate the kind intentions.
Revisado: 07-11-22
The idea that Christians need to be kind in disagreements is good and a deviation from the trial theme, so I give two stars.
Unfortunately the Biblical arguments were not evenly presented, which would be fine if they hadn't stated they would present both sides. All old-Earth arguments I heard them examine were not explained properly.
I believe this is the product of an echo chamber.
