Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy - her royal family - and Kane is her only source of protection. He's also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. Not what I'm used to from Gena
Revisado: 10-21-14
Would you listen to The Darkest Craving again? Why?
No, I found the book to be way too long. I got to the point I was wondering if it would ever end.
What did you like best about this story?
Kane-I liked that he knew what he wanted and went after it. Instead of the usual I want her, I can't have her, I want her, I can't have her we so often see in these types of books.
What about Max Bellmore’s performance did you like?
The male voices were good but I didn't care for his female voices--every woman sounded the same.

YUCK
Revisado: 10-08-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I couldn't get into the book. I first tried it in paperback. Then I tried it in Audio. didn't finish either one-I just couldn't get into this series!
Would you recommend Beyond the Night, Envy Chronicles Book 1 to your friends? Why or why not?
No, didn't care for the plot at all, and couldn't even stand to finish the book.
What three words best describe Sebastian Fields’s performance?
He's too monotone; Maybe if there was a better narrator, I may have finished the audio version.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
a different plot
Any additional comments?
Book was a disappointment, compared to her other writings. I normally always finish a book, but just couldn't on this one.

Expected better
Revisado: 10-08-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Everything! This is not the JRW book I'm used to. It was dull compared to the rest of the BDB. I didn't like where she took Wrath and Beth. None of it was what I've come to expect from her.
Would you recommend The King to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, only to keep up on the story tho...if you've already invested in the rest of the series, you may as well finish it.
Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?
IDK, I liked his narrating period.
Was The King worth the listening time?
Eh, not really, but I'm still glad I finished the series.
