One of the best sci-fi series

I finished it in 3 days because it was so fricken interesting - lots of different story lines and a good balance of action, creating new technologies and dealing with an alien species who thinks completely different to humans. if you haven't read any of the books yet it reminds me of the universe exploring aspects of the bobiverse X the nail biting problem solving of The Martian X action from action type sci-fi stories. It's the end of this trilogy but I'm looking forward to the next one the author comes out with, hopefully soon!

Even better than the Bobiverse

There are so many interesting concepts in this book, it's probably the most unique sci-fi series I've ever read, it's even better than the Bobiverse. I like the mix of nail biting action and problem solving. Wish I could say more but I don't want to give any spoilers! Great cliffhanger, I hope the next book is released soon..

Bobiverse-esque

The characters in this book weren't perfect but that was one of the highlights for me because I find a lot of sci-fi books these days have MCs that never make mistakes and seem too perfect... Not in A New Eden. This made them real to me, and made me connect with the characters even more.
I think a lot of fans of the Bobiverse series will like this book too. Because it's what you would get if one of the Bobs attempted to do planet engineering. But rather than having one similar character, you have a collection of different (sometimes flawed) characters.

Great as always but has some plot holes

Always interesting concepts and alien races. McGill is a fun character who is really good at dealing with people who are hating on him, some traits of which I've learnt from when dealing with politics at work.
One thing that could be improved are the logic of some key aspects of the plot (such as the fact that the revival machines can't be only manufactured on edge world, otherwise the mogwa would have been much more serious about defending it), and the ending felt a bit rushed.
