Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Historia
The drought - or the Tap-Out, as everyone calls it - has been going on for a while now. Everyone’s lives have become an endless list of don’ts: don’t water the lawn, don’t fill up your pool, don’t take long showers. Until the taps run dry. Suddenly, Alyssa’s quiet suburban street spirals into a warzone of desperation; neighbors and families turned against each other on the hunt for water. And when her parents don’t return and her life - and the life of her brother - is threatened, Alyssa has to make impossible choices if she’s going to survive.

Always on edge.! Great read
Revisado: 02-22-19
This book left me on the edge of my seat almost 90% of the time. Not everyone will get this book but I can see it from the eyes of experience. This was my first Shusterman book and I can honestly say I absolutely enjoyed it and can't wait to pick up some of his other titles. A must read indeed.

Historia
It’s 2002, a year after 9/11. It’s an extremely turbulent time politically, but especially so for someone like Shirin, a 16-year-old Muslim girl who’s tired of being stereotyped. Shirin is never surprised by how horrible people can be. So she’s built up protective walls and refuses to let anyone close enough to hurt her. Instead, she drowns her frustrations in music and spends her afternoons break dancing with her brother. But then she meets Ocean James. He’s the first person in forever who really seems to want to get to know Shirin.

Revisado: 12-10-18
I liked the idea of the story a lot. I liked the characters and the atmosphere but I wish I could have gotten more involved in the story, narration wise it was okay, didn't love it and got lost a few times cuz I couldn't always tell which character was which.
Overall it was a nice read. Gonna see if I can pick up more of her books.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: If he doesn't play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he's been emailing with, will be compromised.

This was a re-read for me, I had originally read the book in paper format when it first came out and I have to say listening to the Audiobook version made me fall in love with this story all over again. Simon Vs the Homosapiens agenda is such a feel good mushy book that hits a lot of important topics such as sexuality, bullying, family and being comfortable in your own skin. The narration was great, I have heard other Michael Crouch narrations and this one was just as good as his others. Michael made this story come alive for me and his Simon portrayal was just amazing. Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mushy, geeky love stories and obviously the wonderful writing of Becky Albertalli.

Historia
Rafe is a normal teenager from Colorado. He's been out since 8th grade, accepted by his peers & championed by his progressive parents. And while that's important, all Rafe really wants is to be a regular guy. To have his sexuality be a part of who he is, but not the headline, every single time. So when Rafe transfers to an all-boys' boarding school in New England, he decides to keep his sexuality a secret - not so much going back in the closet as starting over with a clean slate.

This book was a really nice read I liked the flow and it and it's humor. I also liked the fact that you get to explore a different view on "Open labels" & the whole theme in general. I am interested to pick up Honestly Ben and hope to like it as this one.
