Great story even the 2nd time!

Love this story so much! I’ve now listened twice in a few months time and just can’t get enough. I love the narrator’s voice, the details, the setting and the characters. It’s raw and full of feeling and causes you to reflect on what you would do in a similar situation.

Powerful, honest, eye opening.

Loved this book so much. Difficult, heartbreaking situations but so much honesty, grit, determination and hope. It made me appreciate being born in America and what so many will do to get to the freedoms I sometimes take for granted. Highly recommend!

Friends forever!
Revisado: 04-30-24
Firefly Lane is my new favorite story! Loved the loyalty, resilience and forgiveness in the friendship between Tully and Kate. Relationships really are all that matters when it comes down to it. They persevered through years of ups and downs and continued to rely on each other and be there for one another through thick and thin. I also watched to Netflix series and although there were a few new angles to the story and some subplots it was mostly true to the relationship of Tully and Kate and pulled on all my heartstrings. Sad the book is over!

Historia
A powerful, moving memoir - and a practical guide to healing - written by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, an eminent psychologist whose own experiences as a Holocaust survivor help her treat patients and allow them to escape the prisons of their own minds. The Choice weaves Eger's personal story with case studies from her work as a psychologist. Her patients and their stories illustrate different phases of healing and show how people can choose to escape the prisons they construct in their minds and find freedom, regardless of circumstance.

With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

All the feels!
Revisado: 01-30-24
Oh my goodness! Being a sister, a mother and a wife I could relate in many ways to this very well-written novel of love, loss and every emotion in between. I couldn’t wait to listen each day and be engulfed in the stories of all the characters. I loved this book so much even though I found myself tearing up quite often. The bonds of family and enduring love can heal all wounds and this book is one such story.

Decent story, horrible language
Revisado: 10-11-23
I mostly enjoyed the storyline and the details, etc. but was EXTREMELY unimpressed with the way overuse of F-bombs. It just was completely unnecessary. There are many other words in the English language that could’ve been used instead. Kind of shows lack of intelligence when that’s all you can use to describe a situation or a feeling. Oh well, kinda feel like that’s several hours of my life I’ll never get back. I stuck with it because it was our book club selection but I won’t continue with the series.

As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.
