Historia
After losing the only person he ever cared about, Alexander, a rogue artificial intelligence, opens a portal to an alternate dimension to escape his grief. Scanning trillions of different dimensions, Alexander finally finds a world that is reminiscent of the only time he was ever happy, back when he could play virtual reality games with his only friend. Only this new world isn't full of idyllic adventures and fantasy roleplaying. Instead, Alexander finds himself trapped in the middle of a city where monsters have ravaged the world and the only people alive struggle to survive.

Great
Revisado: 04-06-23
Interesting plot and world building. Light hearted story. Main character feels too competent at times. I would have preferred for him to struggle a bit more.

Decent
Revisado: 10-22-21
The more you listen the more disappointed you get. Starts of good, but it seems really hasty once the new alien race appears. It feels like the struggle for survival ends too early. Only at the end of the book do you get reengaged in the fight.

Historia
Alex is broke. He's pretty much always been broke. A misspent youth led to mistakes that led to convictions and plea deals. No career, no education, no hope. Now he has a chance to make things right for him and his family when the newest immersive MMO comes with the ability to convert money earned in the game into real currency. Well, it's cryptocurrency, but that's real-ish, right?

Nice
Revisado: 09-13-20
The book is light and easy to follow. Main character is likable, but he is the only fleshed out character in the book. Even though a main goal is set at the beginning, Jack doesn't appear to care that much about achieving it. It is more a side thought. This makes the book feel a bit superficial.

Historia
Your parents are getting divorced. Now, once you turn 16, you'll be doomed to a pitiful existence on the lowest rungs of society. The neighbor girl got plastic surgery for your sake and is levelling fast to impress you. A Sleeping God gave you its power, but now demands absolute loyalty and obedience, even in real life. Something called the Destroying Plague wants its Emissary to infect everyone alive and, as luck would have it, that Emissary is you! But the city sees you as its salvation, not a cause of great suffering.

Good, rushed ending.
Revisado: 03-16-20
Overall it was nice listening to. Ending is a bit rushed. Tournament could have been more detailed. As it is it looks highly suspicious an improbable to go from nobody to champion. Eve seems like a disposable character.

Historia
Niko has long since given up on his dreams of being a world class battle artist. Thanks to his damaged core and crazy family, he never stood a chance anyway. With money, fame, and untold power on the line, the corporations decide who wins. End of story. But when a mysterious group calling themselves the Sages of the Underpass threaten to upend the entire system with their unorthodox training and cultivation methods, Nikko soon learns that what was once a handicap might be his greatest asset. The only thing standing in his way is a bitter, hard-hearted veteran.

Good book, some details need more work
Revisado: 02-23-20
The introduction has a steep learning curve. Multiple character perspective makes each seem shallow at first, but it gets better later on.
Interesting world. I would like it even more if it would explain at least some things about it in even more detail.

Historia
In the latter half of the 21st century, Alexander and his guild mates play Io Online for fun and to earn a living. Given the chance to test a new experimental immersion system, the veteran players must give up their high-level characters and begin again at level one. As they work through the noob zone quests, they discover that the new immersion system allows them to play in ways that hadn't been possible before. They quickly run afoul of a party of player killers and become the targets of an entire PK guild bent on spawn-camping them until they leave the game. War has been declared.

Too long of an introduction
Revisado: 02-15-20
4 Hours in the audiobook and there is still no goal that the characters want to achieve. Characters are likable enough but following them doing random stuff does not capture my attention. Maybe a goal will be introduced later on but I do not have the patience to continue listening.
