Brilliant, intelligent, well written, eye opener. Nothing to dislike. An absolute pleasure from the intro to the epilogue. Could not wait to get back to it

Historia
Golf has been the subject of many books and the province of many experts, but few have written as sympathetically, or as knowingly, about the peculiar charms of bad golf, and the satisfactions of an essentially losing struggle. John Updike has been writing about golf since he took the game up at the age of 25. In the nearly 40 years of pleasurable bafflement that have followed, he has composed essays for Golf Digest and short stories for The New Yorker concerning the sport.

The passion of golf
Revisado: 10-15-23
Wonderfully written book about the passion of golf, from the love of the game, its complexity, its beauty, its difficult moments, its cynical truth. Highly adviced for anyone playing/loving/hating the game

Historia
Unstoppable is the ultimate immigrant story and an epic David-and-Goliath adventure. While American teens were socializing in ice cream parlors, Siggi was suffering beatings by Nazi hoodlums for being a Jew and was soon deported along with his family to the darkest place the world has ever known: Auschwitz. Siggi used his wits to stay alive, pretending to have trade skills the Nazis could exploit to run the camp. After two death marches and near starvation, he was liberated from camp Mauthausen and went to work for the US Army hunting Nazis.

Unsurpassed insight into holocaust together with other masterpieces such as Man’s search for meaning
Revisado: 02-05-22
Similar to the main character, my father is an Auschwitz’s survivor of the same age, and this book was the exact description of the complex beloved person I grew up with. This book, mixing drama, tragedy and at the same time humor and hope, filled the last few pieces of the puzzle to complete the full incomprehensible horror, PTSD, and desire to live during and after this terrible tragic moment in human history. It completes the image of what it means to have been in, and survived nazi death camps.
