Historia
Told primarily through conversations, The Tuesday Girl is raw, witty, emotional, and ultimately inspirational. Tanya takes the listener on intimate dates, walks with friends, and conversations with people in her life. She falls in love with someone who she is certain is different from anyone she’s ever met, only to discover that he is a conman. Through it all, she relies on her friend Erin and learns that romance isn’t something that just happens in books—it’s something that runs throughout your own life.

Sexual Angst Midwest Style
Revisado: 01-21-25
This is a heartfelt and heartbreaking memoir of one woman's search for love, approbation and self-esteem. Perhaps a bit longish with a hopeful generous ending. In audiobook form it is intensely personal since it is narrated by the author who is herself an award winning narrator. it is almost too intimate in this format. But her emotions are raw for all to hear.
Nevertheless, she is a middle age white woman whose sexual mis-conquests and Midwest angst are the main theme. A little too much smack of mac and cheese to be fully gripping but kudos for sharing intimacy and a journey of self, nevertheless. Sex and the City goes to Michigan?

The Boston Waterfront - more than tough
Revisado: 08-01-24
The audiobook was so realistic in the telling that I feel I have met this man. To a west coaster, the accent took a little getting used to but definitely authentic. Highly recommend.

Quirky Mismatched Lovers Against the World
Revisado: 06-28-24
The story sounded as if this should immediately be made into a Netflix show. Interesting characters and perfectly paced.
The narrator was great. Every character was well defined and she brought just the right amount of angst to the main character's voice through her dilemmas. She blended into the story effortlessly - perfection and a boon to the story.

A Magical World of Mystery and Intrigue
Revisado: 06-24-24
Excellent story telling. This book draws you in immediately with a quick and deft series of emotional events- battle, death, grief, and potential rape for the protagonist, Jade. She is a great female character who develops and matures at many levels throughout the story. If I had read the hardcopy, definitely a well-written, fully formed page turner with lots of suspense and intrigue.
But...I listened to the audiobook and loved the lyrical quality of Kelly Wilkinson's narration. She is asked to experience an astounding variety of emotions and handles them with aplomb. Her main characters, male and female, are nuanced as she switches from person to person. She is the perfect choice for this book. Looking forward to listening to book two!

Historia
Advertising copywriter Jay Hayes has a wonderful, smart, funny, beautiful girlfriend. He also has an incurably monstrous client who he only knows as a distorted voice at the other end of a black, plastic speakerphone. The problem is, they happen to be the same woman. To make matters worse, three months into their relationship, she still thinks he’s a guy named Karl. Throw in a tyrannical boss with near-homicidal tendencies and a fashion-impaired account supervisor who’s bent on destroying Jay’s career, and his life is about to get, well, complicated.

Historia
Laura was born in Indian Territory in 1903. Half Cherokee, she was taught that her heritage was shameful by a vicious, abusive father. A father who not only abused her and her siblings, but made her believe that she was at fault. She was extremely intuitive during a time when such a gift was considered proof of the devil's work, and told that if people found out, many of them would consider her crazy or possessed.

Pioneer Family Story
Revisado: 07-03-22
The story drips with the realism of the era as seen through the eyes of family reminisces and facts. The story belongs to Laura who is traced from her birth in this volume. So accurate in language and details of real life! Very enjoyable story.
The narrator does a great job in keeping the listener's interest and she is particularly strong with the children's voices. Her own accent gradually fades away as that the listener becomes accustomed to it and becomes engrossed in the story. Other books follow!
