Historia
When retired FBI Agent Patrick Henderson calls in an 'X-Ray Sierra India' incident, the operator doesn't understand. He tells them to pass it up the chain till someone does. That person is FBI Special Agent Kimberley Reynolds. Leaving Quantico for snowbound Northern Wisconsin, she finds that a tornado has flattened half the town—and there's no sign of Henderson. Things soon go from weird to worse, as neighbors report unsettling sightings, key evidence goes missing, and the snow keeps rising—cutting off the town, with no way in or out . . .

Worth the read, but not as good as the others
Revisado: 06-19-24
The story was OK, but I had a hard time staying focused. It didn’t capture me like the others. I think that’s mostly due to the narration. I found the nondescript American accent grating and if I had to hear the narrator say “parker” instead of “parka” one more time, I was going to scream. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I really wanted to like this
Revisado: 11-12-23
I had just finished ‘“A Long Time Dead”, which I loved, and wanted to read something else by this author. What a disappointment! The story pushed even my willingness to suspend reality, and I will excuse a lot if the writing is good. The police came across as complete idiots. The characters were forced and they tried so hard, they came across as unlikely and unlikeable. I couldn’t wait for this book to be over. When the sequel to Long Time Dead comes out, I’ll give it a try, but I won’t be listening to any more of this series.

Inspector Littlejohn faces an incredibly peculiar case. How to explain the savage murder of a gentle bishop? Did he know too much about the secretive citizens of Cape Marvin? I’ve read worse, but not often
Revisado: 07-28-20
I kept waiting for this book to live up to the reviews. Boring story, boring characters, boring narration. Won’t be wasting my time or money on further books by this author. I gave it two stars because, to be fair, I’ve read worse, but this one isn’t interesting enough to bother with again.

Overall, I liked this book.
Revisado: 01-27-19
Overall, I liked this book. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I felt the conclusion was choppy, almost as if the author had run out of ideas and didn’t know how to get to the end. I loved the narration, however, and look forward to the next book in the series.
