This was just…wow!
Revisado: 01-04-24
The narrator did an AMAZING job! I was entranced the entire time, and couldn’t stop listening!
As for the story, I have never seen such beautiful and well written characters! It’s hard to find an accurate and relatable representation for depression and postpartum depression, but Erica provides you with just that. She also provides excellent resources and makes you feel like you’re never alone. 🫶🏻
You will NOT see the ending coming! That’s for sure! I seriously listened to it in one setting, messaging the author regularly with how in awe and speechless she kept leaving me. This is definitely one of my favorite reads for 2023.

It’s not what you think….
Revisado: 06-04-23
You’re not getting the story you think you are based on the cover and blurb, which was quite disappointing since I LOVED 12 Dates for Christmas. 🥺
It’s more like The Great Gatsby and the struggles of the haves and have nots. Also, there’s zero trigger warnings, so if suicidal events are one of yours, don’t read this book.
The narrator wasn’t bad, but the story was nothing of what I thought I was actually getting. So, just beware.

Another underrated read by WL Brooks!
Revisado: 12-27-22
t’s hard to leave me speechless…😂🤨 However, that’s exactly what @w.l.brooks has done….
Y’all know how much I love my @norarobertsauthor, but W.L. Brooks is Nora’s talent with not NEARLY enough recognition!
This is book 2 in her series, and once again I didn’t see what was coming. (And you know how difficult that is to do!) It’s time to find out more about the oldest daughter, Casey, and gain another piece of a puzzle that is turning out to be much bigger than I realized! Yet, I have to force myself to hit pause and use it as my reward for finishing my own edits….🫣
A secret far too big to handle forces Casey to leave behind her beloved hometown and never look back. Well, until private detective, Ryan Keller, is sent to track her down. Unable to resist her or her need for help, it forces both of them into a plan to destroy the McKay sisters for good….Casey must face a longtime forgotten foe and the secrets that shaped her.
Two in, and it’s impossible to even pick a favorite at this point! Don’t miss out on this underrated epic read!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world - the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families.

Love this holiday read on repeat!
Revisado: 12-27-22
If you’re familiar with the movie “Groundhog Day” then welcome to the Christmas version, where poor Maze is stuck in a time loop repeating her same Christmas trip to their family cabin until fate decides she has gotten it right. That’s what happens when you ask the universe to show you what makes you happy…🫣
I laughed out loud. I cried. I even began to worry as my thriller brain wondered if this was going to all end terribly.
No, I am not going to spoil it, but it is a cozy, holiday, HEA, warm fuzzy, Hallmark Christmas movie kind of read that I couldn’t put down!
I listened to it on audible, and the narrator was epic! It was impossible not to fall in love with all the characters. It was definitely a 5 ⭐️ read, even though I added it to my TBR last year. It was worth the wait!

Historia
A widower with four adopted daughters, Emmit McKay likes to keep a handle on things. But nothing can prepare the former FBI sharpshooter for the battles coming to his small hometown, especially the one which arrives in such a tempting package. Savannah Walker moves to Blue Creek to take over as principal of the school Emmit’s daughters attend. With a masters’ degree in education and a no-nonsense attitude, she is caught off guard by the behavior of the McKay girls and never expects to fall in love with them - or in lust with their father.

A Must Listen!
Revisado: 12-05-22
It is difficult to surprise me in guessing a "who done it" kind of book, but W.L. Brooks did just that with Let the Dead Lie! I was listening to the amazing narrator on audible, and only put the book down in order to work and sleep! If I didn't have to do either of those things, I would have finished this book in less than 24 hours, because it's an "up all night pager turner" kind of read/listen!
Emmit McKay likes to keep things in order after becoming a widower with four adopted daughters who give him a run for his money with their orneriness. Not even this former FBI sharpshooter can prepare for what's coming to his small town. Especially when it comes to Savannah Walker.
Miss Walker is the new principal at the McKay girls' school, but not even her master's degree and ability to handle anything thrown at her would have her prepared for falling in love with the daughters of the handsome hardware store owner. However, the closer they become, the more dangerous the stakes become when a murderer is hiding amongst them putting everyone in danger.
When I say Brooks wrote this on a Nora Roberts level of writing, it's no lie! This was such a well-written story, but is highly underrated. It will hook you within the first couple of chapters, and fall in love with the McKay daughters just as much as Savannah does! Fletcher is my personal favorite, but it's impossible not to love them all. You won't see what's coming when it comes to the reveal of the murderer. If you want an epic read, then this series is definitely a Must Have! Run and get it today!
