Historia
Area X has been cut off from the rest of the continent for decades. Nature has reclaimed the last vestiges of human civilization. The first expedition returned with reports of a pristine, Edenic landscape; all the members of the second expedition committed suicide; the third expedition died in a hail of gunfire as its members turned on one another; the members of the eleventh expedition returned as shadows of their former selves, and within months of their return, all had died of aggressive cancer.

Beginning with their introduction in the 11th century, and ending with their widespread abandonment in the 17th, Marc Morris explores many of the country's most famous castles, as well as some spectacular lesser-known examples. At times this is an epic tale, driven by characters like William the Conqueror, King John, and Edward I, full of sieges and conquest on an awesome scale.

Really good for a free book
Revisado: 11-18-23
I do wish he had gone more into the architecture and building process and less about the battles but as a history book it's really good.

Historia
Sam Vimes is on a well-deserved holiday. But for the commander of the City Watch, a vacation in the country is anything but relaxing. The balls, the teas, the muck - not to mention all that fresh air and birdsong - are more than a bit taxing on a cynical city-born and -bred copper. Yet a policeman will find a crime anywhere if he decides to look hard enough, and it’s not long before a body is discovered, and Sam - out of his jurisdiction, out of his element, and out of bacon sandwiches (thanks to his well-meaning wife) - must rely on his instincts, guile, and street smarts to see justice done.

Should be called "Equal Rights for Goblins"
Revisado: 08-25-23
Commander of the night's watch investigates the murder of a goblin, while adjusting to his new life living among the wealthy after he marries a well to do aristocratic lady. Lots of wisdom. A bit show at times, but funny enough to make it worth the purchase of the whole book.

Historia
Sancia Grado is a thief, and a damn good one. And her latest target, a heavily guarded warehouse on Tevanne’s docks, is nothing her unique abilities can’t handle. But unbeknownst to her, Sancia’s been sent to steal an artifact of unimaginable power, an object that could revolutionize the magical technology known as scriving. The Merchant Houses who control this magic - the art of using coded commands to imbue everyday objects with sentience - have already used it to transform Tevanne into a vast, remorseless capitalist machine.

Fantasy/Italian mafia story
Revisado: 08-21-23
If you love both of those genres this is for you. Loved the key. Loved the Magic. Lots of drama and crime. I'm not so hot on Italian mafia stories so I'm only giving this 4 stars.

Beautiful story about the life and death of a great author. A little bit more about his death than I would have liked, but it was well written and entertaining.

Better jokes after an hour of listening
Revisado: 03-15-23
I bought this joke mostly just to tell better jokes to my friends and I already came up with three new ones in the first hour of listening. good book. do recommend. the rest is about how to act on a stage and deal with the microphone and such, which is not applicable to me but it seemed like it was decent advice anyway.

Regretting Buying
Revisado: 03-15-23
I'm five chapters in and most of the advice has been stuff like "spell words correctly" and "don't use overused jokes". are you kidding? was this book written for a five-year-old? how can I be so far in and I have not picked up a single bit of useless advice.

Loved the Narration
Revisado: 12-20-22
Funny and amusing to me even as an adult, even if talking dragons are a bit silly. Decent story for a children's book. Not amazing, but still entertaining. David Tennant's narration in a Scottish accent is really what I liked the most.

Good Even for the Not Mathematically Inclined
Revisado: 12-20-22
It was a very interesting book, and answered some questions I had about the way things work in the world on a very exact level. I must admit math is my worst subject, but even I was able to enjoy this book. Now I know it's actually makes mathematical sense to be a gold digger, the wisdom of moving on when you lose and that sports tournaments don't actually make any sense.
