Historia
It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

So much love for this book!
Revisado: 05-05-21
I loved this one - the two main characters were so unique and endearing. The storyline was super unique, too, both bittersweet and humorous, and still so believable!
The performances were spot on, too, especially Lidia’s portrayal of the male characters in JD’s family. Lots of delicious, delightful romantic tension without the use of sex scenes - just brilliant!
I’m off to find more Cara Bastone audiobooks now!

A wonderful start to a great YA adventure!
Revisado: 11-29-15
If you liked Hunger Games, this book will also win your heart. Loved watching these characters begin the journey toward discovering their true selves, their true worth in their own eyes and in the eyes of those around them. Considerably clean, so I'm thrilled to be able to highly recommend this to readers of Young adult fiction. Can't wait to dig into Book 2.
Narration was great - only added to the experience in a positive way.

Historia
Blue Echohawk doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know her real name or when she was born. Abandoned at two and raised by a drifter, she didn't attend school until she was ten years old. At nineteen, when most kids her age are attending college or moving on with life, she is just a senior in high school. With no mother, no father, no faith, and no future, Blue Echohawk is a difficult student, to say the least.

Beautiful Blue.
Revisado: 09-17-15
Amy Harmon is a master at telling stories of people rising up out of hopelessness and finding courage to face the world around them. A beautiful story of identity and self worth, of the real kind of love and what happens when we open our hearts to grace.

Historia
Kate Sedgwick's life has been anything but typical. She's endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there's a reason her best friend, Gus, calls her Bright Side). Kate is strong willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She's also never believed in love. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks.

Wonderful story, but...
Revisado: 09-14-15
A brilliant novel that requires a whole lot of tissue. I'm giving this 5 stars because I loved it. But I have such a hard time with the language - the f-bomb is not in everyone's every day vocabulary in real life and although I'm not against it being used here or there as needed, the frequency in this novel was a real negative for me. It seemed to replace the word "very" or "really" way too often. Just my opinion - please don't judge me for saying so. Clearly by my rating, I did not judge the book/author for it. This is just a heads up for others who might feel the same about that word.

Historia
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She's had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone's toilet's overflowed, but she's never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are certain: There isn't enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.

Delightful!
Revisado: 09-09-15
This is my first book by this author, though I have several of hers in my TBR pile. I really enjoyed the story, the blending of family love and pain, the "breaking free" process Rose went through. The narrator did a great job of capturing the characters' voices and keeping everyone separate for the listener. Will definitely be reading/listening to more in this series!

Historia
My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything. Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent. Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Revisado: 07-13-15
Ms. Whelan narrates another winner. Love her expression and style and she can make any book come to life. However, when a story is already excellent, it's a win-win-win for author, narrator, and listener! Worth every minute!

Revisado: 07-06-15
Great book - Ficklin knows her audience well. Enjoyed the narrator's performance, but lots of mouth noise and/or background pops and clicks in some places that were a bit distracting at times.
All in all, a wonderful weekend listen!

Beautiful story of redemption.
Revisado: 07-01-15
This is my first book by this author and I think she's wonderful. A story of redemption and truth and hope. I have mixed feelings about multiple narrators - so often I find books where one is wonderful and the other is meh - but in this case, both narrators were a real pleasure to listen to.

Loved it!
Revisado: 06-08-15
Great story about a girl who discovers that what she's hiding from the world, what she's most ashamed of, is in fact, the very thing that makes her special and important and unique.
I thought Ms. Eyre did a fantastic job at narrating this story, except that the quavery voice she used for the main character (I didn't hear it in other voices so I'm assuming the tremble was an intentional nuance - if not, forgive me) made the character sound old and frail, and took me a while to get used to. But once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Her rhythm and timing and expression was wonderful, otherwise.
Thank you for a great audiobook experience!
