MUST READ LISTEN & ABSORB
Revisado: 03-05-20
I can't even tell you all the feelings I had while listening to Chanel Miller read her memoir. To hear her throat, choked up with tears when reading will Rip. Your. Heart. Out. I would highly advise if you have triggers to NOT listen, but instead read her account. Every woman out there will understand where she is coming from. To hear her account, how she was made to feel even though she was the victim is eye-opening to say the least. I loved that she put her whole statement to the court at the end of the book so we could understand where she was coming from. From the date of the publishing of her memoir the Convicted Felon (!) still has not apologized for anything other than being drunk. I am stunned. I could go on and on about the culture and stigma that sits around women who are sexually assaulted and raped, but I will not. Instead I focus on how strong, brave, courageous and every other power positive word you can think of to describe this young woman. I hope that the writing of her story was cathartic and that she healed just a little bit more. When this story eventually broke in the news, I was engaged, outraged & saddened. I wanted to know who this brave woman was, how she was feeling, and if she had enough people around her to help her stand strong. I am so glad she had the strength to step forward, to speak for the unspeaking, to be willing to lay her life to the world so justice could be served.

From book one: Once upon a time a princess was betrayed, and her kingdom was stolen from her. She hid her most precious object in the human world, a princess of the blood, in the hopes that the Sleeping Court would get a chance to take their rightful place as high court in the realm Faerie. Now, a new generation has come of age, and the crown must be passed. The reigning Queen’s daughter will claim the throne uncontested unless those that remember, and waited to awaken the wayward princess can ally with her.

Amazing Four Stories
Revisado: 02-20-20
Slumber: Definitely different from the other RH books I've read. The Fae were perfect for this story, and I like the way the authors have built the court for this story. A fast read, I can't wait for the next one coming soon. I am looking forward to see who joins The Sleeping Court and The Princess in her bid for Queen.
Awaken: If you asked me who I'd choose as a favorite in this series I'd have a hard time picking. Everybody has their own sense of humor and character and you just "get" them all. I love that the story has a basilisk queen! Verity still has her work cut out for her trying to fill in her guard. I'm seriously engrossed in this series, and can't wait for the next one to see where the authors take her.
Trance: This series is checking off all kinds of boxes for me. There is intrigue, there are all kinds of paranormal/fantasy creatures (have I told you about the Basilisk? Yeah there is a queen with a consort!) and a whole bunch of "old world" court issues. Princess Verity is continuing her journey to become queen, but not without a whole lot of people out to get her, she's also got a whole bunch of them supporting her. The politics in this part of the story are out of this world (fitting) but are very contemporary in their schemings. Verity is having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but if I know these authors the light will be bright and shiny when we get there. GAH! How to tell you without giving anything away isn't easy... you'll just have to read the series yourself.
Oblivion: This series is why there are paranormal readers. Book 4 wraps everything up all nice and tight. The writers know their audience and definitely give us what we are looking for. Romance, a whole lot of sexy time (that's required if Verity is going to win the crown of Faerie), hot men, and suspense that will make you wonder if creatures like this really do exist. Well done series, and I can't wait to read the next creation from these authors.

Historia
As a Navy SEAL, Rick Mann fought his way to hell and back, but he's never faced a challenge quite like protecting Sierra Cox. She's spoiled, she's annoying...and he's never wanted a woman more. That's a problem for so many reasons. At the top of that list is he needs to keep his head in the game because even though Sierra doesn't take anything seriously, including Rick, the threats on her life are very real.

There is NOTHING sleepy about this story
Revisado: 12-12-18
Can I tell you how shy I will be if I ever meet this narrator? HOLY hottness! In the Reverse Harem genre I have to really like the characters to continue with a story/series. This one hits all those button to keep reading a story. I love that the characters of this story seem to just melt into you. Rich dark chocolate melting. The voice of the narrator really helps bring the characters personalities to life. The story line of the Princess and her future bid for Queen is so intriguing and compelling. With straight up snark at the right times, and connected emotion between Verity and her Guard this story is a quick listen and will charm you.

intense read!
Revisado: 06-21-18
One of the fastest audio books I've listened to in this genre in just about forever.
Working on the Sex Crimes Unit is just the start of this story. She's also got aging parents, a criminal that's come back to haunt her waking hours, and a dead partner. Angie Pallorino has issues, maybe they are problems, but they are too many to list so I'm going to say issues.

Historia
Detective Angie Pallorino took down a serial killer permanently and, according to her superiors, with excessive force. Benched on a desk assignment for twelve months, Angie struggles to maintain her sense of identity—if she's not a detective, who is she? Then a decades-old cold case washes ashore, pulling her into an investigation she recognizes as deeply personal. Angie's lover and partner, James Maddocks, sees it, too. But spearheading an ongoing probe into a sex-trafficking ring while keeping Angie's increasing obsession with her case in check is taking its toll.

CSI in Canada
Revisado: 06-21-18
I never thought I'd get hooked into a "CSI like" series, but I am hooked. This detective, who is now under probation for the extreme shooting of a serial killer, is a heroine. She's tough despite her trials. I'm really enjoying the way the story lines are moving.

Historia
Kat Grant and Alice Campbell have a friendship forged in shared confidences and long lunches lubricated by expensive wine. Though they're very different women - the artsy socialite and the struggling suburbanite - they're each other's rocks. But even rocks crumble under pressure. Like when Kat's financier husband, Howard, plunges to his death from the second-floor balcony of their South Florida mansion. Howard was a jerk, a drunk, a bully, and, police say, a murder victim. The questions begin piling up.

This was definitely a weird one. I wasn't sure I was going to finish listening, and then
WHAM!
The twists started.
I liked the characters, and I liked how the author twisted it at the end. I could see this as a movie/mini-series. Recommended for readers of Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train, etc.
