This Is Us felt like a book that I needed to read a couple years ago when I was in a figuring myself out after being a mom for a few years. I went into motherhood as a single mom so life has always been a different walk for me. Did I imagine that being the way I’d experience first time motherhood? Absolutely not. But there I was.

This book is a message to mothers that it’s ok to put yourself first while also prioritizing our children. It was such an ode to sisterhood outside of familial relationships.

The romance isn’t the typical “spice” we sometimes read in urban fiction, it was the perfect amount of spice for the plot and character development🥹 it just felt like a relatable read for me and I’d read it again over and over👏🏾
