I buy too much!

Wanted to like it, just couldn't.

I love numbers. Always have. Am a strong, determined advocate for the precision of numbers over words, especially in decision-making. This book was 2 stars until the rambling, unfocused, practical section. It reads like your proud 4 year old nephew who has "learned" something new and has little idea of what to do with it except to perform it for others (sorry). Far too much imprecision. Started focused on probability and that presentation was minimally passible but then broadened the scope far beyond his demonstrated expertise. Mispronouncing Daniel Kahneman's last name, a trailblazer in econometrics (also mispronounced), is unforgivable. Needs a section on scales and scale development and much more support for modeling in predictive analytics. Not only is this book a waste of time, it might also confuse what you came in knowing. One very irritating thing? For a book on probability, way too much use of the word "always". I wish Covington had stayed within himself, not tried to be everything to everyone, been more focused, and plumbed much more deeply. If you are looking for something in this area that is well worth the time, check out The Book of Why by Judea Pearl. Sorry. I really did try to like this work. It just ended up being a major disappointment.

Okay... just okay

Mostly pretty good. Some logical inconsistencies. For example, null hypotheses are retained or rejected, not "accepted". You don't accept something that is already assumed by the world to be true. The novice might have to give this a couple listens to grasp the content. It does lay an okay job of laying down a logical track for understanding statistics.

But one person's very personal one. Still... eye-opening. Made me wonder how accurate a biography could be. I think the most valuable content is thematic, anyway. This country has lost its moral mooring. Such a shame.

Liked (but not "loved") it.

Feel somewhat guilty because Tara does "spill her guts" here, as is supposed to happen with a memoir, BUT I spent too much mental energy challenging the accuracy of the first person presentation. I wish the story had not seemed so engineered as it was scripted. Still, there is a lot (!!!) of real stuff here. Overall, worth the considerable investment of time and attention.

Repetition and design

Focused design of the program, targeted specifically for travelers. Learning by repetition and parroting native dpeakers. What's wrong with that? Take time to review the program several times ... and you'll be ready Part 2. Don't expect a miracle in learning ANY language, using ANY system. You WILL be rewarded for your patience, focus, and practice!!!

A much-ignored view of the German resistance

You simply cannot understand internal Germany under Hitler without this view. An engrossing account of a true hero. The audio presentation does what all presentations must do: get out of the way. Very nice job.

Not a thing. This author is just a writing machine... and would probably be helped by doing more reading. There just is nothing new here. If you have never read any self-help anything, this might be worth the effort. Otherwise...

Heart wrenching

This is Item #1 in the indictment of the human race, focusing on the misery that results from struggles regarding greed, power, lunacy, and the gullibility of the powerless. Sad. So sad. I continually overlapped already heard sections because I didn't want to miss a breath.
