This was the exact right book at the right time.

I don't believe the writing is phenomenal. It is fairly basic and superficial. For that reason, it reads quick and straight to the point.

The story on the other hand; touched me deeply. There were so many sentences and whole paragraphs that I highlighted. I related so much to Nora; her feelings and experiences.
This was the exact right book at the exact right time I needed to read.

AMAZING cliffhanger, does NOT make it a good book

Thinking of changing my handle to something like "the unpopular opinion book reader leorak".

I just have to say, just because the last 30 pages is WOW! and there is an AMAZING cliffhanger, does NOT make it a good book imo. That feeling of "OMG OMG OMG, I am shook!!"; that doesn't mean I enjoyed the book as a whole. Or that I believe it was well written. I don't believe this was very well written.

I love Sarah J Maas - she is queen and #respect

BUT

There are a lot of problems with this book.

There is a lot of misdirection, like watching an illusionist perform magic tricks. All of it very unnecessary.
The side characters redeem this book and I will be here for book 3 for the Rhun, Ithan, Fury, Hypaxia and The Aux boys.
I would have loved to learn more about Jesiba and Isaiah.

This book is EVERYTHING and more! It is like having coffee with a friend, next to the fire while it is snowing outside.

It is not the type of story where "I-need-the-next-book-now!", but rather when I come back for more, I will be welcomed back with open, welcoming arms and made to feel warm and fuzzy again.
A book that makes your forget you are reading a book.
