I've always been a huge Dusty fan, so I'm not surprised that I liked the stories included in the book. I also liked the casual nature of the story and that it felt conversational.

The performance of this book was atrocious. I was continually taken out of the enjoyment of the story by the narrator outrageously mispronouncing the names of all the wrestlers. It was annoying and unnecessary.

I've loved this series from the first pages of the original book. Hollywood Dead is a great level set and seems to provide closure to the story to date.

I recommend this series to everyone I known intersted in this genre.

Worth every second of your time

The second book by Scott Meyer in the series is just plain old fun. I have to admit that I was a bit concerned that he wouldn't be able to keep up the level of humor into a second book or that the characters would seem a bit tired.

I was completely wrong. The story is fast paced, the characters become more interesting in the second book and I was left wanting more story at the end.

My only knock on this book (didn't effect me of course) is that you absolutely would have had to listen to the first book in the series to make heads or tails of what's happening in the second book.

I don't know if Scott Meyer plans on a third book in this series, but if he is, I know I'll get it the day that it's released to be able to slip back into this fun and fascinating world he's created.

Beyond the story, the performance is top notch and the narrator provides a great array of wonderful voices during the performance.

Well worth both your time and your money.

I must confess before you start reading this that I'm a comic book fan. I always have been and I'd image I always will be. I learned to read with comics when I was 4 years old and what I read was Marvel.

The construction of the story was extremely interesting, hearing the origin of how all of the heroes, villains, and stories came to life.

Behind the scenes at Marvel seemed to be as colorful and exciting as the characters they worked on.

The story tracks from before Marvel truly existed all the way through to its sale to Disney.

This is a fascinating story of the ups and downs of the comic book industry told from the perspective of those who lived it.

If you are or were a fan of Marvel comics you'll find this book engaging and hard to stop listening to.

This is well worth taking the time to hear.

Excelsior!

I'm a big fan of alternate history and steampunk tales. I was in no way prepared for the absolutely cracking tale that I ended up listening too.

A fantastic piece of story telling that shows the impact of time travel and the divergent timeline that is created from it.

I've always been interested in Richard Burton as a person. He' was a famous Victorian adventurer and the only non Muslim to complete the Hajj (that we know of).

The divergent timeline turn what would have been the Victorian Era into this very bizarre steampunk/bio advanced society.

There is the mystery of Spring Heeled Jack that must be solved and it serves as the lynch pin to the entire tale.

Very worth whiled to listen to.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for von Daniken and his books.

I read this book originally when I was very young. I thought it was interesting and inventive and lead me to read the rest of his books as he's written them. It also lead me to sample other books of alternative history, all of which has given me a better perspective of the world.

I don't think you have to agree with his conclusions to like the book, but it should help you learn how one individual began to ask questions of the world around him when the answers he was receiving weren't personally satisfying.

In a crazy developed by the Millennium series of books, this Danish crime series fits right in. Even though Siteg Larsson was Swedish not Danish, I found the pacing and tone of this book to be very similar.

This book features a reluctant hero seemingly trudging through his time on the police force after a traumatic event. An opportunity arises, for he that he originally sees as a dodge to escape work and notice.

Slowly the character along with his supporting cast begin to unwind the mystery around a kidnapped female MP.

The book kept me listening often well into when I really should have been doing other things because I wanted to know what would happen next.

If you enjoy a good crime thriller, I would suggest giving this first book in a series a try.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Map of Time to be better than the print version?

Felix Palma did a great job of really capturing the "air" of Victoria London. His method of interweaving stories kept my interested and I was pleasantly surprised at how they wove into one another.
James Langton, did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Where Palma captures London with words, Langton captures the Victorian feel with his tone and pacing.

The story itself is just plan fun. With Jake the Ripper, H.G. Wells, and a method of travel to the future, how can you go wrong.

The constant tease of is it real or not in the story, keeps you reading to find out.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of early science fiction stories. It's well worth you time and money.

The third book in this series maintains the high quality established in the first two books.

It delivers on great story, good action, and offers tidbits to the attentive listener to the first two books.

If you enjoy Zombie books (and who doesn't) this trilogy is amongst the best I've listened to. Well worth you time and money to give it a try.

A very compelling listen.

The story sucked me in and I found myself listening much longer than I had meant to several times.

Fascinating topic that is well researched, backed up with logical thought, and presented in a fashion that is easy for an non expert to understand.

If you have any interest in evolution and the effects that it had on making who we are now, I would highly suggest this book to you.
