Historia
Alabama detective Cooper Devereaux makes no apologies for his luxe lifestyle or the way he does his job. Most cops haven’t lived the kind of life he has—starting out as an orphan, raised by a grizzled cop savior—and most don’t use his kind of high-risk tactics. But he may have met his match in fellow detective Jan Loflin, who’s fresh off a long undercover stint in Vice when they’re partnered on a case that will test them both beyond their direst nightmares.

Different from his brother Lee Child
Revisado: 06-17-23
Overall, it starts of slow and it takes longer to develop his characters. The book did surprise me. It’s worth a listen.

Historia
Lee Child once again demonstrates his mastery of the thriller genre with an unbeatable collection of three Jack Reacher novellas and six short stories, together for the first time in one pulse-pounding collection from the New York Times best-selling author.

For me it was a glimpse of Lee Child’s genesis of his writing and character development.

Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

Co-authored by CNN
Revisado: 08-24-21
These last two offerings from Mr. Silva are utterly disappointing. The book begins like a true Gabriel novel and it quickly turns to Mr. Silva’s secret knowledge of the politics and actions of President Trump. His rant convinced me that this novel, if you want to call it that, was co-authored with CNN. He espouses events/thoughts/accusations leveled at President Trump that have been refuted in more honest media. I don’t remember him writing about the Clintons, Obama, or even the lies of our current president. He doesn’t mention the Group of 4 who have trashed Israel and want to reduce funding. He surely doesn’t thank Mr. Trump for making Jerusalem the official capital of Israel when so many previous presidents said they would and did not. In fact, personally, I think he spoke poorly of Israel as a nation. I love the Gabriel series but this is the last purchase I will make from Daniel Silva. I don’t want his opinions and, I surely, don’t want to financially support his new ideology. What a waste of writing talent but, with the likes of The New York Times, I think he will always have media that will welcome him with open arms.

Historia
When Pope Paul VII dies suddenly, Gabriel Allon is summoned to Rome by the Holy Father’s loyal private secretary, Archbishop Luigi Donati. A billion Catholic faithful have been told that the pope died of a heart attack. Donati, however, has two good reasons to suspect his master was murdered. The Swiss Guard who was standing watch outside the papal apartments the night of the pope’s death is missing. So, too, is the letter the Holy Father was writing during the final hours of his life. A letter that was addressed to Gabriel.

Daniel Silva’s worst book
Revisado: 07-24-20
I have listened to EVERY Silva book and I give 5 stars for each except this one. Why would Mr Silva write a book like this when we have waited a year to read about Gabriel, the master spy, and the superb accomplishments of Mossad. Gabriel is getting older and now we have lost a year in the Allon series to this book. I am a Christian, pro Jew, pro Israel, and rebuke antisemitism. I feel that Mr Silva should have written about Judaism, Catholicism, and Christianity in a separate book and keep the Allon series alive. Very disappointed in this book and have already told my friends to save their money for the next book unless it is more of the same.
