Historia
Britt-Marie can't stand mess. She eats dinner at precisely the right time and starts her day at six in the morning because only lunatics wake up later than that. And she is not passive-aggressive. Not in the least. It's just that sometimes people interpret her helpful suggestions as criticisms, which is certainly not her intention. But at 63, Britt-Marie has had enough. She finally walks out on her loveless 40-year marriage and finds a job in the only place she can: Borg, a small, derelict town devastated by the financial crisis.

Cute story with humor and sadness all wrapped together.
Revisado: 10-26-24
Britt Marie's quirky personality was pretty humorous. She acted like she was about 10-15 years older than she was. The sweet story was about the broken town of Borg uniting with her quirkiness and perhaps sheltered life.

Gut wrenching sadness
Revisado: 10-05-24
I liked this story for a while but it really was a horribly sad story and sad is too light of a word. It was frustrating to hear the horrible things that many of the characters got away with and never had to pay consequences. I guess the ending lightened up a bit but the overall story was really too sad for my taste.

Heart wrenching story!
Revisado: 09-02-24
This story drew me in to the end. It was sorrowful but didn't lag on the sadness so much to make it not worth the read. Many moments of pure sadness but a few decent people with compassion kept the story heartwarming at the same time. Many of the male characters voices could have been voiced better but I still enjoyed listening. I almost wish the ending wasn't so abrupt but it's okay leaving you to fill in some blanks and thinking about the story. Without giving too much away, I felt Lucas's leaving his mother didn't quite fit his character. I recommend this to others who enjoy stories of love and sadness with a sprinkle of good.

Sweet love story
Revisado: 05-01-24
A sweet story similar to a Hallmark movie with country-like feels interwoven. It may have been a bit predictable but it was sweet and a perfect break to read between a more serious story.

Historia
One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year. Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever.

I enjoyed listening to this story. I could just imagine seeing the quirky things Eleanor did at times. There’s an interesting twist at the end that I hadn’t expected. The accents were fun and the characters were so easy to visualize. Great story and very well written!

Historia
The ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is quiet—until the tranquility is shattered by a woman's terrified scream. Security guards take charge immediately, instructing everyone inside to stay put until the threat is identified and contained. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers, who'd happened to sit at the same table, pass the time in conversation, and friendships are struck. Each has his or her own reasons for being in the reading room that morning—it just happens that one is a murderer.

Catchy but confusing
Revisado: 03-13-23
Good plot but confusing to follow. Two different story’s going on at the same time and it left me with unanswered questions of how they connect. The story is about someone named Hannah writing a story but I was left confused about who Hannah was vs. Winifred and Leo vs. Leo. You only hear Leo’s letters to Hannah and never hear from Hannah. It’s all very confusing. If the author had explained or at least showed the connection or at least let you hear from Hannah, I might have given it more stars.
