Historia
When horror-obsessed Riley Lawrence and his group of college friends arrive in the small town of Carousel for their Centennial Celebration, the few decrepit cars parked in the street don’t scare them. But when they enter a locked building, an animatronic usher hands them each a ticket, and the lights dim, Riley realizes they’ve entered the inescapable patchwork of a horror movie set. And they’ve each been assigned an archetype—Scholar, Athlete, Eye Candy, Final Girl—to play out as the curtains rise.

Everything you were expecting and more, fantastic job of getting us the feeling of the colony was at war and battling superior forces for months.
Sieges, battles and magic, what more could you ask for?

This is Oorah, a marine story incarnate.
Revisado: 10-04-24
Being a door kicker myself once upon a time, i want to preface there are quite a few cringe "boot" moments in this story, with that minor gripe said i still found it to be a realistic environment for what the MC could experience. This story is very much akin to "undying mercenary" or "old mans war" in terms of portrayal of infantry combat. It does a great job, although there are certain caveats to the uninitiated that are not things that would happen but nonetheless those are minor gripes that would not affect you unless you've been enlisted and know how unrealistic it would be. very minor gripes in this regard.
With that being said, as for the story, i found book 1 "conscript" to be okay, my personal opinion is it really dragged on far longer then it should have, the entirety of the story is pretty much focused on boot camp training. While i think a lot could have been removed, the author drops enough meta plot points to the MC throughout to keep you invested in the series ( i don't want to give the impression it is not worth it, because again, enough good bits happen that make it worth your while to continue on). Despite my feelings of the boot camp section lingering longer then it should have, we are introduced to core characterization as well as people who help set the foundation for the series, as well massive plot events, so context is necessary for the setting the stage.
The last quarter of the book and the entirety of book 2 progresses far more naturally in my opinion and sticks to what the author does best, life as a infantryman. The combat is very infantry focused, it does a fantastic job of representing this to the readers, so if that is what you are here for you will eventually get what you wanted. The meta plot hooks are very interesting and i am curious to see where the author is going to take it with several of the plot lines of which i was invested in all of them by the end of book 2.
Overall again, i felt like book 1 kinda dragged its feet in some places, but book 2 redeemed itself by itself and fixed any narrative issues i was ever feeling on the series, overall 7/7.5ish out of 10, if you like infantry based combat you will enjoy where this series is going.

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

cool concept, unfortunately there is only about 1 or 2 chapters worth of material of progression, the rest is just all slice of life esque stuff or explaining our modern world to people.

Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

another great addition, with one big problem
Revisado: 09-14-23
this is another great addition to the series, Jeff hays/sound booth increased the production quality in many small and subtle ways making it more like a graphic audio book.
the one issue is the editing for this book is very bad sadly. there are alot of points where I noticed sentences were cut off at the very end, which makes it kind of a jarring experience throughout. this could be fixed with the editor doing another pass on the book but I was very surprised to see this issue pop up far more then I would of expected. maybe a dozen or two times throughout.
overall though, this is a minor issue in my opinion considering the overall increased production value of the book.

Historia
The manhunt has officially begun. Now the target of a game-wide Holy War, Ned is forced to flee the Onyx Sands. The odds are stacked against him; Tyrann has tens of thousands of followers, a religion that’s spreading like wildfire, and a powerful god that will be stepping into the world of EBO in a matter of days. Meanwhile, Ned’s allies are a squirrel-exploding bard, a repurposed home security system who takes her instructions far too literally, and a wildly unreliable talking axe named Frank. But even as the inevitable conflict draws closer, change is coming to EBO.

first quarter to half was kinda slow and felt like mmorpg filler, but once it picked up it was insanely hard to drop and kept me roped in like the first book.
